• Blade speed significantly impacts cutting life. Running a blade at excessive speed for a particular application generates more heat, dulling the cutting edge. The harder the material is, the slower the blade speed should be
• Blade should always be turning before starting the cut. Starting the blade with the teeth touching the material can cause teeth to strip or chip, shortening blade life.

Before any maintenance is performed on any machine, the source of the power must be shut off. Either unplug or remove batteries prior to working on a machine.

Exposed wire

Inspect power cords and batteries for potential damage, prior to supplying power to the machine. Exposed wires can lead to electrical shock, cracked batteries can cause chemical burns.

Clean workspace

The area chosen for performing the cutting operation, should be dry, well lit and free of any clutter. Set up in an area providing clearance around the entire area, a safe distance from others and away from combustibles. Sparks from machine or cut have potential to ignite the materials.

Clamping material

Material should be secured in a vise or clamped to a solid, level surface, holding material as close to the intended cut, for full support. Doing so will reduce the chance of the blade being "pinched" in the cut. Never manually hold the material when making a cut.

This isn’t an exhaustive list and the actual wheel diameter can be 11-5/8” to 12-1/2” thick. 

There’s no need to use adhesive with these as the Urethane material stretches to fit the wheel.

This makes for easier installation and removal.

We suggest soaking in hot water before installation to make material more pliable. 

Urethane is known to outlast the factory tires, or the replacement plastic or rubber tires. 

It doesn’t dry out which extends its life.

How to Install Your Urethane Band Saw Tires 

1. Make sure to unplug your band saw while changing any parts or servicing it.
2. Urethane band saw tires don’t require adhesive, but they do need to be stretched on.
3. Remove the old tires, and clean the machine of any dirt, debris, or adhesive.
4. The smaller tires can be fitted by stretching them on by hand.
5. If you can’t get the tires on by hand stretching them, clamp the tires to the wheel. Work the tire around the wheel in
   
   both directions and add clamps as you go.
6. A dowel rod or smooth tool can be used to pry the tire on.
7. Once the tire is securely on the wheel, the stretch will need to be smoothed out.
8. With a dowel between the tire and the wheel, roll it around the entire wheel.

Answer:	Open the cabinet and measure the wheels that the blade turns on. If they are close to 12”, and the channel for the tire is about 7/8”, then they will work. My 12” wheels had a 1” channel and these worked great, just had to center the tires in that groove. They’ll last for another 30 years, or probably more

Answer:	They fit the 113243311 80" (what I have) perfectly. It helped to heat the tires in very hot water before trying to put them on. Once heated the tires go on the wheels very easily. The saw also makes a lot less noise and sounds smoother.

Answer:	If the wheels are 12", they should fit. It will be a tight fit. Suggest you see a you-tube video on how to replace the tires - it will save you a lot of headaches.
Question:	I have a 'made in China' generic 14" band saw with a 3/4" tool post. Will this fit the tool post? My current guide uses the little cool blocks
Answer:	Craftsman may have more than one "older" bandsaw/sander, however, they work perfectly with my 40 year old Craftsman bandsaw with 12 wheels and an 80" blade. They do fit very tight. I warmed them up a bit was able to install without removing the wheels.
