Answer:	I can't give the comparison to the Starbucks extra hot drink, but the coffee and milk drinks are hot to my taste. I like my coffee drinks very hot. The machine has profile settings that can be adjusted for the brewing temperature by drink and by user. I turned mine to the highest brewing temp setting.

Answer:	I believe ceramic, and really do like the machine. had an older miele, and wow this one has come a long way. brews ristretto also, use a good Italian coffee bean and its like dessert.

Answer:	We have had no mold issues with our machine. We degrease and descale a little more regularly than the required intervals just to keep a fresh coffee taste. It is easy to use and set up in my opinion. We love this machine so much we bought a second for our other home. If we are not going to use at our other property, we empty out the water and leave the water compartment open and clean and dry.
