10 best tire valve extension
A tire valve extension is an automotive accessory used to extend the length of a tire's valve stem. Valve stems are the small, cylindrical components that protrude from a tire, allowing you to inflate and deflate the tire. Tire valve extensions serve several purposes and are particularly useful in certain situations. Here's what you need to know about tire valve extensions:
Purpose: Tire valve extensions are primarily used to make it easier to access and maintain proper tire pressure in situations where the standard valve stem is difficult to reach. They are especially handy for dual rear-wheel configurations on trucks, RVs, and other large vehicles.
Types: There are various types of tire valve extensions, including:
- Rigid Extensions: These are solid and do not bend. They provide a fixed extension length.
- Flexible Extensions: These extensions are typically made of a flexible material, such as rubber or metal, allowing for some bending to accommodate different angles.
- Dual-Head Extensions: These have two valve heads, one at each end, to simplify the inflation and pressure-checking process.
Lengths: Tire valve extensions come in various lengths to accommodate different tire and vehicle configurations. The length you need depends on the specific application and how far the valve stem is from the outer wheel surface.
Installation: To install a tire valve extension, you typically remove the valve cap from the existing valve stem and screw the extension onto the valve. Some extensions require a tool for secure attachment.
Accessibility: Tire valve extensions are especially beneficial for vehicles with dual rear wheels, as the inner wheels can be challenging to access without an extension. They also help in situations where the valve stem is recessed or located in a tight space.
Maintenance: Like standard valve stems, tire valve extensions require regular inspection to ensure they are in good condition and properly secured. Loose or damaged extensions can lead to air leakage or loss.
Valve Caps: It's a good practice to use valve caps on both the extension and the original valve stem to keep dirt and debris out and prevent air loss.
Compatibility: Ensure that the tire valve extension you choose is compatible with your vehicle's tire and wheel setup. Extensions should be designed for the specific valve type (e.g., Schrader or Presta) used on your vehicle.
Safety: Proper tire pressure is crucial for vehicle safety and performance. Ensure that the tire valve extensions are well-maintained and do not interfere with tire balance or handling.
In summary, tire valve extensions are practical accessories used to extend the length of a tire's valve stem, making it easier to access and maintain proper tire pressure. They are particularly useful in situations where the standard valve stem is not easily reachable, such as dual rear-wheel configurations on larger vehicles. Choosing the right type and length of extension is important for safe and effective use.

User questions & answers
Question: | How many comes in package? I assume the 4/card means 4 each |
Answer: | These extenders do not work with TST tire monitoring system 507 with the sensor with air flows through sensors. Only screw on about 2 threads and stops this is not satisfactory your monitor caps will fall off . Either sensors have different threads or extenders do . |
Question: | What is the real answer is this made in us or china (see below conflicting answers |
Answer: | First, these extensions are GREAT. Very durable in construction. Be careful though as they can loosen and fall off but not often. I've been using these for 4-5 years and lost only one. I do check them often for tightness. I'm not sure on exactly what your asking so I'll do my best to explain on what I use them for. These only extend the length of the tire valve. For me, they extend the tire valve past the hub cap so I can fill/check the tire pressure without any prying or digging or having to remove the hub cap. The way you use them is you screw off the little plastic valve cap then screw this on (strong finger tight) then screw the plastic cap, you removed from the existing tire valve, onto the valve extension. The valve extension has a plunger inside that pushes into the below tire valve to release or add the compressed air. Seals back tight once the pressure force is removed. In summary, your new longer tire valve functions exactly the same as when it was shorter. You can check the tire pressure and add air to the tire as you did before. If you need a longer tire valve then buy these. You won't be disappointed. I hope this helps. Happy 2017 New Year |
Question: | Can this milton s-441 3/4 in valve extension be used to attache an external tpms |
Answer: | Yes, the Work Sharp Culinary E5 Kitchen Knife Sharpener does come with the ceramic honing rod. It is a complete sharpening solution. |
Question: | Can you screw an air compressor or air pressure gauge on these extensions |
Answer: | I do not know anything about the ken onion edition you mentioned, but the Work Sharp E5 Kitchen Knife Sharpener is the best knife sharpener I have had. I used the Chef's Choice (triple phase) for years, and it never quite got my knives as sharp as I wanted. This one does. I think it is the combination of the sharpening angle (17 degrees and you can buy an add on that take knives to 15 degrees if you prefer) and the ceramic honing tool. It brought my older knives back to a great blade for use in the kitchen. Honing them once a week keeps them sharp. I am in the kitchen and cook a lot, and sharp knives are very important to me. |

User questions & answers
Question: | what are the dimensions of these stems |
Answer: | You get a utility track adapter kit that comes with the cover |
Question: | how long are these |
Answer: | I have the vinyl leather grain and I absolutely love it! I didn’t have the choice of the canvas, so didn’t have to make a decision about it. I did have my bike in the back and the handle bar wanted to poke through, so maybe the canvas wouldn’t do that or it would have less of a chance to. |
Question: | What is the over all length |
Answer: | Yes. This product comes with brackets that slide into the rail system on a Tacoma. |

Answer: | china |
Question: | Will this work up to 170 psi? Need extension to inflate air shock on bike. Others show 60psi limit. Is this rated to higher pressure |
Answer: | I had a problem with these also...….it's not your air chuck on the compressor hose....it's the little washer on the extension that seals between the extension and the original Schrader valve. Return them and get a different brand. |
Question: | Where are these made |
Answer: | Not designed to be stacked. |
Question: | I purchaaed a viair air compessor and the inflation end of the hose will not depress the center of the valve because it is to big. Any ideas |
Answer: | 1.25" long - worked for me - used to put nitrogen in my kia 2010 vehicle - used them just for filling |
Question: | Can these be stacked? in other words if I need a 2" extension can I screw two of these together and still inflate a tire |
Answer: | Yes, I purchased about 1 year ago and they are schrader valves. |
Question: | how long is this |
Answer: | Ford dually 19".5 550 |

User questions & answers
Question: | How tight do you make them.and do they move when checking pressure |
Answer: | They did work on my Forest River FR3 (which has an F53 dually chassis. I got them because the simulators (chrome wheel covers) holes would not allow me to put an air chuck on them. The inner dually wheels on the rear axle came with extensions for the inner tires. Only used this product on the outside rear tires and the front wheels. they are great. |
Question: | How tight do you make them.and do they move when checking pressure |
Answer: | As long as you have standard tire stems I can't imagine why they wouldn't. I used mine on my RV which uses a Ford E450 chassis including the duallies in the back |
Question: | will these work on a Ford f53 dually |
Answer: | O.D. = 1cm |
Question: | can this fit a 94 ford E350 dually |
Answer: | Yes, but beware that they will leak. So IMHO they are junk, stay away |

User questions & answers
Question: | Is it necessary to have the tire re-balanced after installation |
Answer: | No. But it does have an o-ring, so finger tightening is sufficient. |
Question: | is the item durable |
Answer: | I used these on my 36 ft motorhome, Rubber valve stems, I did not remove them and had no problems. |
Question: | can you tell me if the female end of these 180 degree valve extenders have a nut to use a wrench on to tighten |
Answer: | I have a valve extension for both with a stainless steel wire as a bracket because nothing moves and I can both mature air check or fill |
Question: | Do I need steel valve stems if I remove them before driving |
Answer: | I make them very tight so they are air tight and do not move when checking pressure. |

User questions & answers
Question: | it appears to be package dimensions quoted .. what is actual valve length overall |
Answer: | You do not want to remove your original valve, this is an extender, you remove the protective cap, screw this adapter to the old valve stem, and replace the protective cap. You may loose a little pressure when you do this, as it opens the inside valve before you are finished tightening the adapter. It would not hurt to verify your correct pressure after they are installed. They must be tightened snugly as they are flying around at tire speed. |
Question: | is the valve stem extension , pacific dualies part no. 18099, compatable with a "TST model no. 507se" tire monitoring system |
Answer: | No. Just install and check/adjust tire pressure. |
Question: | Do you have to remove valves to install |
Answer: | They seem to be holding up just fine. We installed them on our 30' RV and have put over 2500 miles on them and they still work fine. Our RV is under a partial cover, so not exposed to the elements continuously. |

User questions & answers
Question: | Can these be used on tires that take up to 120 lbs pressure |
Answer: | It's been a few years but I believe they where solid. You have to turn the entire hose to screw them onto your valve stems. Then you have a little spring clip to hold them onto your rim. I did'nt use them too cheesy I used the metal bolt on clips I had. |
Question: | Do these replace the existing valve stem or connect to it |
Answer: | The overall length is 7" they worked great for my application which was a Ford E350 motor home. Just enough hose and the metal clips to hold them on your rims. You have to do a serch for your vehicle remember so the right part number comes up |
Question: | Is the end that screws onto the valve stem stationary (solid) or do they turn? Want to screw on to add air only so want solid ends |
Answer: | Vehicle is in storage & not available - Try asking the manufacturer or distributor. |
Question: | Is the length from the bottom to the top of the extension actually |
Answer: | I bought them to use with a TPMS and have had no problems. They should be fine. |
- 250mm/9.84inch
- The lugnut is flat (Flange)
- The bracket fastens under the lug nut
- Easy installation

User questions & answers
Question: | will they fit a 2017 F350 DRW |
Answer: | Have not seen the bracket sold separately. |
Question: | will they fit a 2017 F350 DRW |
Answer: | The extension will fit any valve stem however you are most likely asking about the "L" bracket. The bracket is a taper or flat with a 15/16 hole for mounting on the lug. |
Question: | where can i buy just the bracket |
Answer: | I don't know for sure, my tires are at 70 psi |
Question: | Will it fit a 2012 Mercedes Sprinter |
Answer: | They connect to the existing stem. But you should not use them with a rubber stem unless you anchor the air valve part to a wheel nut. |
