Answer:	In my experience, the pedals that come with Guitar Hero are often in poor condition, with the rubber sheath disintegrating and the wires ready to fall off. Even the ones that come in good condition aren't designed to last very long, and give out within a year or two. I'd recommend either doing a web search for someone who buys pedals, replaces the cable with a heavier-duty cable, and resells the pedal; or buying the pedal and taking it to an electronics repair shop for a cable replacement when it stops working.

Answer:	No, sounds like a short somewhere in the controller or the new battery. I bought 2 recently and both controllers work great. Maybe take it back apart and check the connections again.
