Just make sure, after you've left them wrapped in plastic wrap or in a plastic bag for 6-8 hours to let the colors set, that you rinse them out in the sink really well. When you start rinsing, a lot of extra dye will come out. Rinse until it runs pretty clear. After that, I washed all of our shirts together in cold water and it wasn't a problem. If you are super concerned, you could use a Shout Color Catcher sheet in the wash, that can help to absorb any free-floating dye in the wash |

| Answer: | The kits are frustratingly vague about this. The competing brands give their coverage in square yards, which is more specific, but not too helpful if you don't know how many shirts are in a square yard. I have actually gotten 30 projects out of one of these kits, but that batch included about half small objects (such as hand towels and small child T shirts) and I diluted some of the dyes to pastel shades. My best guess, if you are careful about not wasting dye or over-saturating your projects, is that you would get about 15-20 adult medium shirts out of one kit.The actual volume in 1 bottle is about 120 ml (1/2 cup). From 1 bottle, I expect to get 1 adult XXL shirt or 3 child XS shirts. |
