Answer:	Good question and I don't see any reason why not depending on the thickness of the tubing. I have a Dewalt chop saw I used to cut aluminum studs when I was refinishing my basement and it cut just fine with a metal cutting blade. It was a 10" vs 12" saw however. Motors and Amp rating was the same as my DW 716 Mite Saw. May want to ping someone at DeWalt or search thier web site. May not be the right thing to do but you could ask someone at one of the Big Box Home Improvement stores as well.

Answer:	The saw was sufficiently packaged to protect it during shipping. I got mine in perfect condition. The manufacturer's packaging took care of most of the protection, and I'm pretty sure it was over-boxed as well. Hope this helps, and enjoy the saw. I haven't had a ton of use from mine yet, but have done several smaller projects with just a few cuts and have been pleased with the performance (it's not a cheap toy) and ease of handling. The size and weight make it easy to get it out and start cutting, then put away quickly when the job is done.

Question:	I see the vertical max is 3 5/8, but could this cut 4x4 lumber
Answer:	No not with one cut. You would have to turn the 4x4 over. Blade is a 7 1/4" diameter, same as a hand held circular saw. From the tip of the teeth to the edge of the washer (at center of blade) I get 2 7/8".
Question:	What's the cross cut capacity if we use the entire sliding action
Answer:	On a straight 90, I can cut 8" wide boards. On a 45, I can cut right around 5-7/8". This saw was a great addition for me, as I'm constantly working in places away from a simple power source (my generator is a beast and not easy to transport). It cuts cleanly, hasn't bogged down yet (even on wet 2x6 treated), and is super light and easy to transport.

They have videos on their website that show how to install the parts on DW716, DWS779, and DWS782 saws. You will need some additional tools (torx screw drivers or torx bits, wire strippers/cutter/crimper) and somewhat mechanically inclined. Just google "DWS779 xps light kit" and they should be the top result. This might be an easier option versus going to a DeWalt service center in the post pandemic world.

Answer:	There is no built in clamp.
Question:	How can you attach a temporary wood fence for clamping on a work stop? It look like you can't attach on the right
Answer:	Mounting holes are provided in all four feet to facilitate bench mounting. There are round countersunk holes for use with screws and square holes for use with the miter saw stand "carraige bolt" or M8 (5/16") or smaller bolts. Use either hole, it is not necessary to use both. Always mount your saw firmly to prevent movement. To enhance the tool’s portability, it can be mounted to a piece of 1/2" (12.7 mm) or thicker plywood which can then be clamped to your work support or moved to other job sites and reclamped. NOTE: If you elect to mount your saw to a piece of plywood, make sure that the mounting screws don’t protrude from the bottom of the wood. The plywood must sit flush on the work support. When clamping the saw to any work surface, clamp only on the clamping bosses where the mounting screw holes are located. Clamping at any other point will surely interfere with the proper operation of the saw. CAUTION: To prevent binding and inaccuracy, be sure the mounting surface is not warped or otherwise uneven. If the saw rocks on the surface place a thin piece of material under one saw foot until the saw sits firmly on the mounting surface. Answer:	Yes, the blade will cut aluminum; however, is not designed for aluminum and I'm sure there are some pieces of aluminum, such as very thick pieces that could destroy the blade or the saw. Look for a blade better suited to the material you are intending to cut.

Answer:	Yes. That would be completely within the capabilities of this saw. I used this model to cut 4x4 for legs of a table just a month ago no problem.

Answer:	This saw seems to have all of the features of the plug in units. It has a lot of nice features making it well worth having. I like to think of this saw as a very well equipped double bevel miter saw that has the option to be cordless.

Answer:	Yes, has the ability, but doesn't come with it.
Question:	This equipment can cut materials such as steel and aluminum
Answer:	Definitely aluminum, with the right blade. Steel I haven't tried and can't speak to. I'd look up 10" blades that cut steel and if they're compatible with the saw (a hook angle of 5 degrees or less, a 3/8" arbor, an adequate rpm, which I'd have to check...) it should do fine. It's more about the blade and speed than the other components of the saw.FWIW, I love this saw, several years into owning it.
Question:	Will this slide far enough to cut 12" wide material that's say 1/2" or 3/4" thick
Answer:	I think it will only cut 10", but if you are really good with the saw, you can turn the board over and cut the 2" piece that's left on the board. I've never tried it, but maybe someone else has.

Answer:	I don't think it will cut your 5 1/4" base vertical. I used it to cut 4" base with no problem. The blade rises to just over 6" clearance, but it appears that coming down the top of the base would hit the arbor before the blade cut through to the bottom. But this is just eyeballing it, not actual application.
