User questions & answers
Question: | What is the torque output |
Answer: | There are 2 versions of dewalt 1/2 drive impacts I think I read this model is about 200 or 210 ft lb at lowes. The bigger version I read was 680 ft lb but amazon says it is 700 ft lb. |
Question: | is it comes with 2 battery yes |
Answer: | yes it comes with 2 battery's great little gun . JimBo |
Question: | Can this strong to work on a semi tire |
Answer: | Hi there, I'm not sure about that, but, I've been using this on a 2001 Ford Expedition, and I only use the Mid-Level 2 (for power strength); and it takes away very easy the wheel-bolts. This unit comes with 3 Levels, so, that may give you a hint of how strong this guy is. I hope this may help. Thank you |

User questions & answers
Question: | using 1 of the 3 speeds ,is there anyway to set the torque to 100 ft-lbs |
Answer: | The manual states that the maximum torque values for each speed are 100/300/700. So if you set it to Speed 1 then the maximum torque it will deliver is 100 ft-lbs. |
Question: | Dofference between dcf899m1 and dcf899b |
Answer: | Dewalt codes are as follows B = bare tool. No battery. C = Compact (1.5Ah) battery. D = 2Ah compact battery. L = 3Ah battery. M = 4Ah battery. P = 5Ah battery. T = 6Ah Flexvolt battery. X = 9Ah Flexvolt battery. DCF899 = Detent pin version. DCF899H = Hog ring version. So, DCF899M1 is detent pin with 1 4Ah battery. If you see something like DCF899HP2, that means hog ring version with 2 5Ah battery. Otherwise, whether it's DCF899B or DCF899M1 or DCF899P1, the tool itself is EXACTLY the same. |
Question: | Is this a kit, or just the lone drill |
Answer: | DCF899B is the DCF899 impact with a detent anvil sold as a (B) bare tool. DCF899HB is the DCF899H impact with a (H) hog ring anvil* sold as a (B) bare tool. DCF899M1 is the DCF899 impact with detent anvil sold as a kit with charger, one (1) 4Ah battery, and a bag. DCF899P1 is the DCF899 impact with detent anvil sold as a kit with charger, one (1) 5Ah battery, and a bag. DCF899P2 is the DCF899 impact with detent anvil sold as a kit with charger, two (2) 5Ah batteries, and a bag. DCF899HP2 is the DCF899H impact with hog ring anvil* sold as a kit with charger, two (2) 5Ah batteries, and a bag *Difference between detent and hog ring: Detent holds socket more securely but must be put on so pin lines up with hole in impact socket & will need a small screwdriver or the like to release. Hog ring allows one to put on and pull off impact sockets by hand, though usually pretty difficult at first until broken in. Of course you should only use impact sockets/extensions If you put a hand socket (usually chrome) on a hog ring it will lock on and you will need a tool to get it off because the indentations are different. That's also a good way to break the hog ring, but if that happens they are cheap and easy to replace. Detents are usually more suited for situations where socket changes are infrequent like in a factory setting & hog rings for where frequent changes are needed like automotive work. |
Question: | My boyfriend mentioned briefly he wanted a dewalt gun that apparently is so strong that he can change tires within minutes with it. could this be it |
Answer: | Yes. This could be it. This is currently Dewalts newest and strongest cordless impact wrench. You might want to look for the one that comes with batteries and a charger if he doesn't have that already. Be mindful that this model comes with two variations: hog ring and detent anvil. Detent anvil holds the socket tighter but uses a tool (which is probably included)to change the sockets while hog ring holds the socket on with a split washer but doesn't require a tool. Great tool though with either option. |

User questions & answers
Question: | Is there a 18volt tool similar in torque value in the dewalt line |
Answer: | no stay with 20v |
Question: | How easy is it to remove a socket? Do you have to press the pin, or can you just pull it off? The hog ring version doesn't seem to be available |
Answer: | I honestly think the hog ring is a solution to a problem that doesn't exist. Detente is better. Not hard to use at all. It won't wear out. The hog ring will be good for about a year. |
Question: | can you use the battery 20v max lithium ion 1.5ah with this tool |
Answer: | Yes 20V is all that matters. You can use any 20V Dewalt battery with any 20V Dewalt tool. Still the amp rating directly determines how long the battery will last. So using 1.5AH battery will only drive half as many screws/bolts compared to a 3AH battery before the battery is dead but it will still work. |
Question: | Amazon lists the torque at 300 ft lbs while the DeWalt site lists it at 400 ft lbs. Which is it |
Answer: | I'm not going to bulls#!t anyone. I never used this product, BUT typically the max torque of Impact Wrenches is in reverse. So maybe it's 400 ft.-lbs. in reverse and 300 ft.-lbs. foward? I don't know. |

User questions & answers
Question: | Can the impact feature be turned off and on (i.e. to be used as just a drill for use in fine cabinetry work |
Answer: | No it can not. It has a 1/2 impact socket tip on it that isn't removable. This tool was strictly designed to be used with 1/2 sockets. |
Question: | What’s the difference between an impact driver and an impact wrench? I see Dewalt has both |
Answer: | Impact drivers are usually smaller (using 1/4" hex drive) for driving in smaller screws. Impact wrenches are larger and deliver more power, and are usually 3/8" square drive and larger. Impact wrenches are usually for loosening and fastening large nuts and bolts. They both operate in a similar manner- they use rotational hammering action to twist the fastener. Compared to a traditional drill or ratchet that applies continuous force, impact drivers and wrenches are able to exert much more force by "pulsing" the force in a twisting fashion, in several short, but powerful blows. This results in less reactionary torque (tool trying to pull out of your hands), less stripped screwheads and much higher power- useful for driving long, or stuck screws/bolts. |
Question: | Anyone know the max torque for this one? I'm tryna decide which one to get |
Answer: | DCF880 has a max torque rating of 150 ft-lbs according to Dewalt. |
Question: | whats the difference between hog ring and detent pin |
Answer: | The ring offers spring tension to sockets to retain it on the drive and the pin offers another means of retaining socket on drive by locking into the hole on drive side of sockets. The pin works great to keep impact swivel sockects from flying off. However, they are harder to remove from drive of impact. You actually have to push the pin down to remove socket. Unlike the retaining ring, you would simply pull off. |

User questions & answers
Question: | Can I use a 20v 6.0ah flex volt battery with this |
Answer: | Too heavy? That's like saying steel toed boots are a lot heavier than non-steel toed boots. There's only ounces of difference even over a long amount of time. |
Question: | How does the detent pin feel on this model? I had an older 18v model and the detent pin made it such a pain to get the sockets off |
Answer: | The detent pin is the one flaw of this impact. Mine started sticking so it wouldn’t hold a socket very well after a week. I replaced the anvil with a hog ring. Super easy to do and it cost less than $20. Great deal considering the difference in price for the tool with the detent vs hog ring was $80 |
Question: | Is this item good enough for replace the car tires SUV |
Answer: | Yes. I easily replace all the tires on my old Dodge Ram with it. It has plenty of power even for old rusty bolts. It doesn't take a lot of power so you can use small batteries to keep the gun lighter. |
Question: | Does this model hold sockets or is that the other model with the hog ring |
Answer: | This model is with the pin which is great. If you want the socket to hold very strongly because you will do a lot of the same size bolts, you align the pin of the gun with the hole in your socket (only one side out of the 4). If you have a job to do where you must change sockets size often, then you don't align the pin of the gun with the hole of the socket (the other 3 sides) which makes the sockets a lot easier to take off because the pin doesn't snap in place. You have the best of both worlds. |

Question: | Wnat is the backwards torque |
Answer: | Same torque rating backwards and forward. |
Question: | The wattage of the charger? 50W or 60W |
Answer: | Neither. If you mean is the required input 50 Hertz or 60 Hertz--the answer is 60 Hertz. The given input specs are 120 volts x 1.5 amps = 180 wattsIf you want to know the charger output, that rating is measured in amps and it is 4.0 amps.If by some chance you really want to know how many watts the charger consumes, the formula is volts x amps=watts....so 120 volts x 1.5 amps = 180 watts |
Question: | Could this be used for an oil change |
Answer: | it would depend on what you are talking about. if you are considering using it to remove and install the drain nut i highly recommend that you stay with a trusty wrench, to tighten and loosen the drain nut. |
Question: | Did the unit come with one or two Ion Batteries?. The page displays two baterries |
Answer: | Two batteries. We love this tool. |

User questions & answers
Question: | Hi good night! comes with 2 batteries and charger |
Answer: | Great saw. Not a toy like the 18 volt ones. Definitely a great tool for the quiver. The battery does run down pretty fast. If you are framing and ripping all day long you will need three batteries and two chargers. I'm not sure about the 9 amp hr battery. Perhaps one of each will be enough or 2 9s would be the answer. My remodeling co is doing fine with one grinder, one saw and two 6 amp hr batteries. Don't even stock my corded saw in the truck any more. |
Question: | interchangeable battery with other dewalt products |
Answer: | made in china |
Question: | Can you adjust the torque on this? Is this adjustable torque |
Answer: | I love all my DeWalt Tools: drills, saws, and nailers. But, if you want a fantastic saw with the blade on the left without compromising on power and accuracy on your cuts, check out DeWalt's "wormdrive" saw. It's very powerful, accurate, and smooth cutting. You can easily keep your cut line in view throughout each cut. For that power it does require the cord. You have to decide what you want to trade off on; power or convenience of cordless. On a side note, Skilsaw makes a great lightweight magnesium high quality worm drive saw with plenty of power. It costs a little more than the deWalt. Please note I have not owned or used the Skilsaw, but it has a diehard following of contractors and framers. |
Question: | What all does this kit come with |
Answer: | Pen Name answered the best. This is most certainly a right hand saw-a two hand saw like any corded right blade sidewinder. I grew up working in construction on the west coast doing framing, trim work but mostly siding. We used the right side blade circular saws for everything. For siding we used them for ripping, some crosscut and general cutouts around windows and doors. I could rip a 16 foot piece of siding from end to end without looking at the material other than to start the rip. You just use your left hand holding the base plate and your finger against the material as a guide. You can't do that with a left side blade saw. Since then I have used cordless left side circular saws for more than 20 years. I'm used to them and prefer them but they are mostly a one hand saw. This 7 1/4" saw is just a cordless version of the corded right side sidewinder. And Dewalt makes a left side blade circular saw that is basically a cordless worm drive if you need that bid of a saw to have the blade on the left side. |
- Compact (5.70" front to back), lightweight (3.4 lbs) design fits into tight areas
- Three LED lights with 20 second delay after trigger release, provide visibility without shadows
- Hog ring anvil to easily change sockets
- Same runtime and power in a lighter, shorter Package compared to DCB200
- No memory and virtually no self-discharge for maximum productivity and less Downtime
- 3 LED fuel gauge to quickly check state of charger on battery
User questions & answers
Question: | Wat is the torque |
Answer: | FlexVolt means that the batteries and chargers are interchangeable with Dewalt 20V. However, it does not work both ways. You can use a FlexVolt battery on a 20V tool and charger, but you cannot use a 20V battery on a FlexVolt tool. Be advised that using a 60V FlexVolt battery on a 20V will not allow it to run at 60V, but the AH will triple, so it will have a longer run-time. A 2AH 60V FlexVolt battery will perform like a 6AH 20V battery. |
Question: | What is tork or foot pounds of force |
Answer: | Weight- Saw: 10.87 lbs DCB606: 2.25 lbs DCB609: 3.45 lbs DCB612: 3.4 lbs |
Question: | How much ft/lb torque does this have |
Answer: | LOOKS LIKE AROUND NOVEMBER 1, 2017, IF WE ARE LUCKY! |
Question: | what country is this made from |
Answer: | Metal |

Question: | is this have 2 3.0 ah batteries |
Answer: | 2ah batteries The 3ah batteries are sold separately |
Question: | This is good for remove wheels |
Answer: | It is generally recommended to have at least 100 FT-LBS of torque in order to remove most lug nuts for a tire. This unit has 200 FT-LBS of torque so removing lug nuts on wheels should not be an issue. |
Question: | Are this special (smaller) batteries |
Answer: | This is our 12v Max set and impact. These are only comptable with other 12v Max products. The 2.0 Ah batteries are not the compact models, and are the new 12v Max standard size. |
Question: | Would I be able to use one of my 20v battery on this tool if i had to |
Answer: | While it may physically clip in (but I haven’t tried), I’m sure the 20v battery will cause damage to the 12v motor/circuits. I wouldn’t recommend it. |

About Us
Raymond E. DEWALT followed in his father's steps, and worked in plants and construction after leaving school. In all fields of work he encountered the issue of high labour costs. To help reduce these costs, whenever possible he installed a machine to handle specific needs.
One fine day, M. DEWALT was hired to head a wood mill, manufacturing numerous products, from basic boxes to complete houses. The amount of work exceeded the company's capacity by far, but its owner could not afford to increase the headcount. The only solution was to ensure his men produced more work. M. DEWALT built a yoke, which he connected directly to a motor and a saw. He then fitted it onto a standard arm. The saw could be raised, lowered, moved forward and backward, and adapted to all types of angles. With this system, he could handle the same amount of work as four men, reducing labor costs beyond his wildest imagination.
