| Answer: | The level indicator in a CO2 tank does not work like the fuel gauge on your car. CO2 in the tank is liquid, your level gauge in the tank is measuring the head pressure in the tank (the amount of gas pressure above the liquid). It will always read the same, or very close to the same, as long as their is any liquid CO2 in the tank. As soon as you use all the liquid CO2 the head pressure will begin to drop VERY quickly.Don't think of that indicator as something that tells you how much CO2 you have left, think of it as something that tells you if you have any liquid CO2 left or not. Once it starts to drop at all it's time for a new tank.Well, one last bit. If you put the tank somewhere hot (relatively speaking) the gauge will go up. If you put it somewhere cold the gauge will go down. But again, that isn't a good indicator of how much CO2 is in the tank. |
