Sometimes, the superheated steam gets trapped in the packaging and condenses back into water as it cools. These filters will be perfectly safe for use as they are still sterile inside of the packaging. Answer:	I would return the filter mount but believe I've had it to long.

Answer:	When this happens I assume I didn’t put it on correctly. I take off and reattach to the attachment. It then will be green. I never use if it is red. If it’s new out of the container, and flashes red I know I did something wrong. I reapply and it will flash green with good tasting water.

Question:	What is the shelf life of these replacement filters
Answer:	I'm not sure about the shelf life. Never thought about it and you bring up a good point. I usually buy the 8 or 12 pack because we need to change out the filters every three weeks. I actually have two large, 23 cup dispensers. One is in the refrigerator, and other is left out for cooking, so we go through them quickly. One thing about the one not in the refrigerator - it does start to develop a moldy smell, I suppose from the moist condition of the filter and room temperature combined. I wash it out regularly as a result. I read other reviews stating the same problem with the larger dispensers that are left out of the refrigerator, so I suspect the problem is universal and not specific to this product. Customer service is excellent, so if you would like to call them and ask, I'm sure they would be more than happy to answer. (800).503.2939.
Question:	I've been reading about unsealed filters. Are filters purchased through ZeroWater via Amazon sealed and therefore, uncontaminated
Answer:	i ordered a 4 pack of filters. When I opened the sealed white plastic wrap, and opened the top, the filter was WET...I decided to put it on my unit and use it anyway, but tested it before consumed..the reading was "69"...I am returning the entire 4 filters and will deal only with zero water company directly.

Answer:	As Leaser states below, it depends on the quality of water you start with. I use mine at work, so I only run about a gallon a day through it, five days a week. The tap water measures about 180-200 ppm on the meter, and it lasts me about 2 months per filter, around 40-50 gallons, I would estimate.

Answer:	I don't know about the 'ultimate' over the regular, but I will say that these outperforms what I was getting with PUR products. More reasonable and my water taste way better and for a longer period of time!
