Answer:	I would use this only as a stand up cocktail table. The wide base is not conducive to using a bar stool. However, the black base is much more attractive than the typical three prong metal base, which is the trade off.
Question:	Can you fit a mini frig underneath? Looks like the support bar in the middle may be in the way
Answer:	No. One end of the post is tapered to fit into the base. The other end has a threaded opening for a bolt that attaches to the underside of the table top. Cutting the post would leave you without the base or tabletop. Theoretically you could cut the post down if you had the tools necessary to refit it to attach it to the base or top. Doesn't seem like it's worth the effort to me.

Answer:	medium density fiberboard. Instead of the table being made of a solid piece of wood, it is made of mdf. It's wood by product compressed into a thick shape. Think of it as particle board on steroids. It's lighter than a solid piece of wood and a little less durable but it still holds up nicely.

Question:	Top is 24 only inches wide. How does this affect the comfort level, due to not being able to fully slide stool underneath top, due to the round base
Answer:	I was able to fit the pole and the base easily. But you're right that there are no screws or anything to hold the pole in place with either the top or base. If it becomes an issue, you might try to use some type of glue or adhesive to keep the pieces intact.
