Answer:	Adhesive is on one side. The other side that comes in contact with the floor is rubber.

Answer:	I don’t think the adhesive is made for wet areas. Mine rubbed off in 3 days in dry conditions, I don’t think it could hold up in wet

Answer:	Not sure what you're trying to do. This clear tape is thin and works well to adhere strips, hangers for pictures etc. I have used in repairing items that crazy glue doesnt work etc. Its cantankerous to deal with as its hard to cut with scissors so normally I use an exacto knife or razor blade. Works great on glass, plastics etc. Not good for anything porous. Sounds like you need to use a clear caulk ...Hope that helps.

I would recommend hand wiping the placemat to clean it as the adhesive may not stand up to immersion.
