Answer:	Emerson 1F80-0471 is a single stage thermostat. Please look at the Emerson 1F80-0472 it has 2 stages and read the specification on the lower part of the page. It cost more but will beter suit air and very cold weather demand

Answer:	I have a dual zone. There are extra terminals for what I believe is a 3 zone? There customer service is great on the phone. I'd call them to double check.

Answer:	This is a non programmable T stat. If you want to use this to replace and don't care about the programmable side , then yes it will work

Answer:	Your C wire is just a common for power. If you dont plan on using batteries, then C will be required to power the thermostat.

Answer:	As long as both have the same wiring connections and are compatible with your system, program or non-program doesn't matter. Question:	How do you separate the front cover from the back plate and to change batteries
Answer:	My husband says to gently pull the cover plate from the back piece. There are 4 clips that fit into slots on the back piece. These are all inside of the cover so you won’t see anything. When replacing the front cover, just line up the clips to the slots. Very easy to do.

Answer:	Hi there, this unit REQUIRES an internet connection, based on a WiFi (wireless) connection. Question:	What if i have a C wire
Answer:	When you put it on circulate, the fan comes on for about 10 minutes every 20 minutes or so. The owners manual says it runs about 35% of the time. I used this feature this Fall with the system off (no heat or a/c) just to circulate the air through my Filtrete filters.

Answer:	The light can be turned off. It is about the 11th or 12th item in the Configuration Menu. dL = Display Light. Change that setting to Off. To get into the Configuration Menu have the thermostat must be in Heat or A/C, Press and hold Menu for five seconds, then press menu button to step thru the settings. Answer:	The temp display digits are 1 inch tall. The temp setting digits are 1/2 inch tall. The HEAT, AC, OFF & FAN words above the buttons across the bottom are 1/4 inch tall.
Question:	Does the blue background light stay on always? I installed it and the blue never turns off. Just concerned that this will burn out
Answer:	My Emerson 1f80-0471 thermostat also has a blue light that when installed, the light stayed on. The Manual that came with my unit said to press AND HOLD MENU button until you see an odd looking screen pop up. My manual said to keep pushing MENU until it came up with Program 8 showing L-0N or L-OFF. You then use the up and down arrows ( heat/cool up or down) to select ON....WHICH STAYS ON 24 HR A DAY or OFF, which illuminate for 20 -30 seconds then disappear. Problem was, when I got to program 8......it didn't show L. I finally toggled down to #13 when it showed dl on...... I toggled it to show dl off and then pushed the "run" button. That worked for me. The Manual that came with my unit was WRONG.
Question:	Can you set the temperature differential? My unit is set to =/- 1 degree so the unit constantly cycles. Want to set to a 2 degree diffrence

The following is from the manual: Heat Cycle Rate Setting (if system is MS or SS) Default setting is ME (medium), if you desire a longer heating cycle set to SL (Slow) or shorter cycle set to FA (Fast). A/C Cycle Rate Setting or Aux Heat Cycle Rate Default setting is ME (medium) if you desire a longer cooling cycle set to SL (Slow) or shorter cycle set to FA (Fast).

Question:	My honeywell has a jumper from red to red. This doea not come with a jumper. What do i do
Answer:	There actually is a red jumper, but you'll find it off to the side of the connector plate, where it's not in the way of any wires. The instruction book will show you where, and also the instructions indicate that you can break that jumper if your setup doesn't require one.

Answer:	Don’t understand your question as mine is basically an on-off action. If in heat mode setting 69F, will cause heater to shut off when 69 reached. Heater back on if temp drops below 69F. There’s a little delay, like 1 degree such that heater waits before turning on or off too quickly. Call vendor for more info.

Be careful to search for models using the case (upper or lower) and spaces. Answer:	I always use it in manual because I don't like the way the program feature is set up. Just choose heat or cool, fan in auto, and set temp, all you have to do. If you want programmable I would recommend something else.
Question:	Is it easy to program start and stop times? The one I have now is so complicated
Answer:	Yes. For weekdays first hit PRGM and enter the times and temperature, then hit Run to enter them. Repeat for weekend. There are no stop times, you are simply changing the temperature at these entered times.

Question:	I have a WaterFurnace with 3 zones which tstat do you recommend to replace a dead one
Answer:	I bought the White-Rodgers to replace one that was installed when the house was built 14 years ago. The problem we had was that the temperature doesn't appear calibrated correctly. The company said there is a setting that can offset this problem, but it still is not right. I also bought this because I could supposedly change the temporary hold time, which was in the description of the thermostat, but there is no adjustment for that. Not sure I'd recommend this to anyone else.

Answer:	Both prior answers are unclear or wrong. YES, it has an adjustment. But I'm not sure what you're calling it is the true function. From The manual: "If Furnace Cycles Too Fast or Too Slow - (narrow or wide temperature swing). Item 2 in the Configuration Menu is the adjustment that controls the cycle rate. If an acceptable cycle rate is not achieved using the FA (Fast) or SL (Slow) adjustment contact a local service person for additional suggestions." Item 2 says "Select FA or SL (Fast or Slow) Heating Cycle Rate – The FA setting is frequently used for gas, oil or electric heat. The SL setting produces a longer heating cycle which is normally for hot water or steam (hydronic) systems. Both settings produce very accurate temperature control and can be set to your personal preference. FA cycles the system just under 1°F and the SL setting cycles at approximately 1.5°F"

Answer:	Yes by pressing any button preferably "Run" or " Hold" but the backlight is not as bright as shown in the picture. The color is somewhat like yellowish green and dimmer.
Question:	what does single stage mean
Answer:	It means that the thermostat can only control a unit, boiler or air conditioner, that has a corresponding single stage function. Check with the manufacturer of the unit you are trying to control to make sure you are ordering the correct type of thermostat. And make sure that you reconnect the new thermostat in the exact same way and to the exact same colors as the old thermostat was connected. And turn the power off on the unit you are controlling while doing the reinstallation of the thermostat or you could fry the circuit board.
