To answer your question about the safety of Teflon, the answer is that Teflon is safe to use WITH MANY CAVEATS (do not exceed temperatures of 500 maybe as low as 325, do not chip the teflon, do not inhale the fumes produced, do not wash wish any abrasive cleaning products, and the list goes on). To answer Michael R's assertion that, "Short answer : it's safe", I will quote directly from the article he linked to :"Just how safe are nonstick pots and pans? The answer is a qualified one...They're safe, as long as they're not overheated. Answer:	I'll do my best to answer this qustion. The inside diameter of the steamer basket is 9.5 inches at its' widest point and 4 1/8th inches deep. The pot depth is 5 7/8 inches. When inserted, the steamer basked goes into the pot approximately 1 3/4 inches.I use this steamer regularly. In fact, I used it today to par-steam two pounds of Brussels Sprouts for freezing. I could not be happier with the product. It gets a great deal of use in my kitchen.

Answer:	Hi Keith,All "claded" ply- 3, 5, or the new 7 in stainless and MC2, along with copper core, and copper cookware is made in Canonsburg, Pennsylvania. In other words, any item that has been cladded all the way from top to bottom, is USA made. If any item is a clad bottom ONLY- does not go all the way up the pot or pan, like the one pictured, it is made in China. The "B3" anodized is also made in China as it is not clad all the way. Question:	are the lids really manufactured overseas? i thought all-clad was now having all components manufactured in the US
Answer:	I got referred this because I have the Cuisinart GG-12 set, which is the ceramic coated non-stick version. The ceramic coating does not permit odors to develop as it is impervious.For the teflon/polymer coatings you could try wiping the surfaces down with hydrogen peroxide. If there is decaying food stuck in the surface coating the peroxide will oxidize and destroy the foreign material. If the odor is due to over heating - and usually you can tell because the surface becomes powdery, you are out of luck - all you can do is toss the pan because if you continue to cook with it you will be eating the coating.If you are considering a new set, I cannot rate the ceramic coated pots high enough. My daughter forgot to soak the pot she made mac & cheese in, and I found it the next morning after it had dried. When I pulled out the wooden spoon that had dried in the sauce, the entire coating on the pot came off in one piece. Clean-up turned out to be wiping it down with a soapy sponge and rinsing.

Dried Mac & Cheese wipes right off.If you need a set that is dishwasher safe, I recommend the Henkle Zwilling Spirit cookware. I have the 10 piece set, plus a couple of extra skillets and pots. It is dishwasher safe.

Answer:	Yes, this product is Teflon free, I checked when I bought it as a gift. The way to can tell is that is says that it is "PTFE/PFOA-free" and, according to Wikipedia: "Polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) is a synthetic fluoropolymer of tetrafluoroethylene that has numerous applications. The best known brand name of PTFE is Teflon by DuPont Co." Hope this helps.

Answer:	We bought the Cuisinart 10" saute pan 8 or 10 months ago, but I do think I read from the info that came with the pan that they claimed the coating was lead and cadmium free. Really like this pan -- it is "non-stick" if you season it and treat it right.

Answer:	My lid also has two vents holes. Previous crock pots that I have owned also had 1-2 vent holes. I think this is a common part of the design.
Question:	my question is about the glass top.it came with two little holes in the lid.never heard of that since a slow cooker should always keep the lid on
Answer:	any slow cooker needs to have a small steam escape to prevent pressure from building up and blowing the lid off. That's why lids don't fit "perfectly" - for venting. This manufacturer has chosen to have a tight seal around the circumference and compensated with vent holes in the lid. Do not block them!
Question:	Just found out that the LOW temp. is 215 degrees, and you can not set it for less than four (4) hours. Does not 215* really overcook a lot of foods
Answer:	I had a roast in this for several hours and stuck a thermometer into the roast and it read 180 degrees. There was no burning whatsoever and the roast came out amazing. It does take a very long time, though, at least 8 hours. I tried to take the roast out earlier and it was too tough, but putting it back in for the 8 hours made it much more tender.

Question:	Does this make the copper band on all clad or emerilware shiny and mirror finish like new? Bar keepers friend only cleans copper but makes it bright b
Answer:	To polish the copper use Wright's copper cream or Twinkle Copper Cleaner, both work equally well.If the tarnish is not too dark, it will just wipe clean. If it has gotten very oxidized you may need to rub a bit to get it shiny again. I have copper pans and use these products to clean the copper outsides.
Question:	Is this safe to clean and condition non stick pans
Answer:	Only the bottoms. You can't use it on the non-stick surface but mine clean well with just soap and water and soaking if necessary.
Question:	Can this work on stainless steel sink
Answer:	Yes! I use it on mine all the time. It also works great on silverware that is stainless steel. I know it's expensive, but it's the best stainless steel cleaner I've ever bought.
Question:	Is this product for the INSIDE as well as the outside of SS pots? The outside doesn't bother me so much, but spots & soap scum inside... yuck
Answer:	Definitely removes INSIDE spots and soap scum! Pans will look like new. I agree with the earlier answer that on the toughest spots you will want to use it as a thick paste and may want to refresh the paste a couple of times. Your pans will GLEAM! Bar Keepers Friend - COOKWARE Cleaner is nearly as good and is less expensive. Do wear gloves.

Answer:	The 4 qt pan is 8” diameter, 5” tall. This is a great pan, I use mine almost everyday.
Question:	Can you use electric mixer or a whisk with this product without scratching it all the heck
Answer:	I love All-clad...every single pot and pan. That said, you can tell that a whisk or mixer, or even a metal spoon has been used. But, I wouldn't call it scratched. You might like to know that the Sep/Oct 2017 issue of Cook's Illustrated gave this sauce pan their highest recommendation with the following comments, "Our longtime winner excelled, with steady heating and good visibility to monitor browning. Its stay-cool handle was easy to grip, and a helper handle provided another grabbing point. After being whacked on concrete, it emerged with only tiny dents." After that last statement, I'm sure it will hold up to a mixer without any problem.

Answer:	This product is made in Canonsburg, Oa.
Question:	Is this pot dishwasher safe? My first All-Clad pot was not
Answer:	I do NOT recommend putting any All Clad in the dishwasher. I have put mine in it from time to time but I don’t recommend it. That being said if you are using citrus scented soaps (sink or dishwasher) it will affect the finish. Try using a water/vinegar mix to correct what the citrus, acidic foods and/or dishwasher do to them over time.
