I could realistically see this set offering adequate protection for kids into their early teens unless they are just really big for their age. |

My daughter (12) plays at the 14U level and her private catching coach does not support knee savers. My daughter has also been back to California to work with Jen Shro, who also does not recommend the use. The problem with knee savers is they put you in a relaxed, non-athletic position. They tend to disengage the quads and your lateral movement is comprised. Of course do what you feel is best for your child, but I hope our experience helps you!Steve |

| Answer: | Yes. My son is just over 6’0 and weighs 180 and the only thing he says is the knee guards stick up just a bit when he squats, when he drops to block the pads fit snug around the knee and he’s had no issues. I think this would be a perfect size for someone at 5’9 |
