Answer:	The app primarily syncs the time to your phone but also offers a secondary time zone for travelers as well as alarm and timer but obviously your phone already has those features. The only other thing the app has is the guide that is the instructions for use document. So essentially you are correct, the app mostly is making sure time is exact by syncing with your phone but even so you have to push the red button to update it for daylight saving time changes.

Answer:	I bought the GWM5610-1 for my dad and he loves it. Can't beat it for the money. As far as the difference between the GwM5610-1ER, I'm not sure. They both say 20bar water resistant. Good question.

Answer:	The Casio answer is actually incorrect. The time signal is low frequency and can travel a very long distance, especially at night (when the watch is programmed to sync). For example, I live in the East Coast of the US, about 2400 km from the US station in CO, and my devices can pick up the signal at night.
Question:	Full auto el backlight with afterglow does not work
Answer:	You can test the auto EL light regardless of the room lighting. Press the 2 left buttons and the top right button at the same time. You will see "Tilt" on the display. Now just tip the watch and it will display 8888 on the screen if the tilt worked. I had to return my first one, the second one is perfect. I didn't think I would really even use the Auto EL but I like using it.

Answer:	I don’t think so, multi band and RC maybe. I just quick press the CONNECT button and as long as the app is open in the background it can sync. This watch is not gonna make a crappy phone perform any better. I have issues with syncing and the phone finder not working but I feel it’s all the iphone and software changes and stuff..
