About Everlast

The name Everlast is synonymous with boxing. Renown internationally as a manufacturer of boxing equipment, Everlast started out as a swimwear manufacturer in 1910. Headquartered in the Bronx, NY, the company was founded by 17-year-old Jacob Golomb. The son of a tailor and an avid swimmer, Jacob Golomb was dissatisfied with the durability of swimsuits because they barely lasted a season, so he began making suits that he guaranteed would last for a full year. He proudly gave them the name, Everlast. Although the swimsuits did not last through the years, the name did.

Over the next years, Golomb expanded his company into a small retail store that carried a full line of sports equipment. In 1917, a young fighter named Jack Dempsey introduced boxing to Golomb and Everlast. Dempsey asked Golomb to construct protective headgear that would last more than 15 rounds of intensive boxing training. Golomb specially designed the training gear for Dempsey. In 1919, Dempsey won the worlds heavyweight championship wearing boxing gloves made for him by Golomb. Everlast became the headquarters for boxing equipment throughout the world. In 1925, Golomb designed elastic-waist trunks to replace the leather-belted trunks then worn by boxers. These trunks, now known as boxer trunks, immediately became famous. Jacob Golomb ran the business until he passed away in the early 1950s and his son, Dan, took over. In 1958, Ben Nadorf joined Everlast and purchased 50% of the company from the Golomb family. When Dan Golomb passed away in 1995, Nadorf purchased the familys remaining 50% interest. Nadorf remained the President and Principle Share Holder of Everlast until October 24, 2000.

Answer: Yes. I wash mine all of the time by placing in a garment bag and throwing in the washing machine. Hand washing is another option that may extend the life of the wraps.

Answer: They are 2" x 108" so 9 feet in length.

Answer: This kit provides 3 pairs, so a total of 6 wraps. They are 108" and are shorter than others, but I find they work great for under MMA gloves.

Answer: hi, this is too short for me. I have a relatively small hand but all three packs are still too short. I would suggest you to buy the longer one which was what happened to me. Therefore, I basically got three packs of those wraps in my home useless.

Answer: Yes they are. I wash mine on warm/cold and they are fine. I do put them in a pillow case and tie it up so their Velcro doesn't snag other clothes. They sell a hand wrap wash bag you can by for that reason, but the pillow case works just fine for me. Hope that helps:-)

Answer: Comes as a set of 2. Just to let you know these wraps are short and don't stretch at all. I ordered a different pair after I got these bc I didn't like them.

Question: Are these weighted gloves? I can't find that anywhere in the product description
Answer: Mine didn't come with a mounting bracket jsut the chain and clip on the bag
Question: can I use them with cardio strike punching bag
Answer: I would think you could do that depending on how your boxing gloves fit, but anytime you are altering weighted equipment that you wear, you are opening room for potential injury because of the way your muscles and ligaments have to adjust to accommodate the weight....wrist sprains, for example. Personally, I use these weighted gloves for cardio boxing class I teach, and they are great for toning and resistance....hope that helps. Maybe order them, try them with your gloves but don't sweat in them, and then if you feel any discomfort, pain, or can't keep proper form while using them, send them back or only use them without gloves as they were intended.

Answer: No, if you want Additional weight, just use a wrist weight
