Answer:	Yes. As said below, "it depends on how far the rear axle extends" beyond the nut on each side. I converted my ancient 14-speed "racer" bike into an indoor trainer with this. The axle on my bike extends about one-quarter inch beyond the nut on each side. If the axle had extended more than that, I would have added another nut on each side to reduce the axle extension. I hope that makes sense.
