Answer:	You pull the blade out and it locks into place. I did read some reviews that a wrist flick could also open the blade into a locked position. I returned the knife because a found it too difficult to safely close the knife. The release on the locking mechanism is awkward.

Secure Locking System

Kershaw’s frame lock design makes the Leek safer, more secure, sturdier and quicker for one-handed blade deployment. The frame lock securely holds the blade open to prevent blade closure during use. To close the knife blade, simply push the frame lock to the side with your thumb to unlock the blade and fold the blade back into the handle.

Designed to keep the blade inside the handle, the Kershaw Tip Lock system is featured on all Leek and Scallion SpeedSafe knives. This simple slider, when engaged, ensures the blade will not prematurely open if not in use. The Tip Lock system is located where the tip of the blade meets the handle scales in the closed position. Answer:	It's much thinner than a standard 110. Would imagine that it would be loose in a crossdraw made for a standard 110
