Answer:	I should imagine so. In order to measure out-of-round of a piston, the piston would have to be out of the block. To gauge the out-of-round of the cylinder bore, you would use an inside caliper then use the appropriate micrometer to measure the spread of the caliper.

Answer:	Although they don't tout the Scout TK for that purpose I see no reason it shouldn't work for that use since it can detect the heat of a man at 100 yards. FLIR markets this primarily for use on the trail because of its light weight, ruggedness and small size.

Answer:	Well, we've used these indoors (temperatures in the 70's) and are easily able to see human body heat in comparison (98.6), so I think this would work for your intended purpose.

Answer:	No set time. One reason is that cold weather adversely effects battery strength. On cold mornings you can put them in a pocket close to your body and they will 'rejuvenate their strength. Additionally, run time fluctuates depending on the setting as the random setting uses more battery power. Take plenty of 'name brand' batteries on you trip and if in cold weather put them in you sleeping bag close to your body heat while you sleep.

Answer:	Took on family camp trip for testing. Bought for hunting. Older kids found it easy to use, as I, out to about 300FT (total darkness). But, I do suggest the extra illuminator for over 150FT or so. Decent illumination and many options for mounting.
