Answer:	We live on a Florida lake. We mounted the Diplomat on a 10' high galvanized 1-1/4" pole about 50' from an unscreened raised stone patio last summer. (We seldom used the patio after early March because of bugs.) The Diplomat had made a substantial "dent" in the biting insect level within about three weeks, though they remained a nuisance.This year, we changed out the bulbs and ballasts, as recommended by Flowtron, in early February in anticipation of making it an annual event. We are, now (May 28, 2014), wondering if any mosquitoes, et cetera, are going to show up at all. Apparently, despite the wet spring, the DeathStar as it's been locally dubbed, has completely broken the propagation cycle. As an interesting sidebar, our immediate neighbors have regularly remarked about the "mild" mosquito crop; the somewhat more distant neighbors on the lake are complaining with equal regularity that it's proving the worst mosquito year in recent memory. So, in toto, it would seem the DeathStar tends to considerably more acreage than that claimed by Flowtron.Leave the bottom pan off the Diplomat during assembly, "replacing" it with any light-ish gauge 1/2" x 1/2" or so screening wire (Lowes has 19ga we used) ... bugs get through to the grid (with "friendly" critters kept at a safe distance) ... dead bugs fall to the ground below to feed the geckoes and ants. Pas de mess! Happily, we've spent several evenings on our, yet, bug-free stone patio and are considering expanding same. Simple pleasures.

Answer:	I would say it will kill "any" insect that gets thru the grid. I'm sure some adult bumble bees can get thru the grid. I really don't know what a miner bee is. Can the hole be enlarged - I would say yes, but for safeties sake I wouldn't enlarge the holes.

Question:	How do you test the zapper to make sure it's working? It was working great for a week, but I saw a fly sitting on the bulb a few minutes ago
Answer:	Please only test answers 3 and 4 with someone recording the event and then post to Social Media. Please kids do not try this at home. If your electrically savvy (set to AC on meter) try placing the positive probe on one of the inner bars and the negative probe on of outer bars and see what your reading. Make sure not to make contact with the exterior and interior bars or you might loose a probe or blow the internal circuitry of the Zapper. If there are many volts it works if not it doesn't. I don't want to try this on mine but if someone does please let us know how it went.

Unless you remove it and no circuit. The point is it has a one year guarantee. There is no bulb replacement worry. You get what you pay for in this case. You can always take it apart its up to you. Look i unscrewed it because I was skeptical on the 4000 volt grid. So I did and checked out the Tranformer and yep 4000 volts output Put the screws back, used it liked the device a good while and wrote the review for you people. You all have done it for me

Answer:	In one bed imagining it the face of a clock, I planted 2 Cherry Tomato Plants (at 9:00 & 3:00), 4 cucumber plants (along edge with a trellis to climb up and out of bed from 11:00 to 1:00), 4 pepper plants along the edge (at 4:00, 5:00, 6:10, 8:00), 2 hills of parsley between 9-10:00 and 2-3:00, in toward the middle), 2 basil plants (between tomato plants-they make the tomatoes sooooooo sweet!), oregano plant at 6:00 but in about 7 inches, and some white icicle radishes along the edge to the cucumbers to help with bugs). Everything grew wonderfully, abundantly, and seemed to find the space adequately. I fertilized only once during the summer as I started the bed out with fresh soil & compost, but will have to add more compost and fertilizer this year, and/or plant some green & yellow beans to restore the nitrogen levels to the soil.the other circular bed I planted 4 hills of yellow squash, each having 3 seed per hill, and some green beans & radish plants among the hills to deter the bugs. There was plenty of room. I wrapped a plastic fence around the bed that came up about knee to mid thigh level, and encouraged the squash to grow up and out. It produced abundantly.
