Answer:	The dinner plate IS NOT 11 inches. It is 11.25 inches, just large enough that my cabinet door won't close completely. And just large enough that in my dishwasher, the rotating water spray arm tips it as it turns. So I've got to replace it. Please make accurate measurements when you answer quetions like this. I read one of the previous answers and bought on the basis of it. Mistake.

Question:	Do these dishes have enough red in them to clash with amber colored glasses
Answer:	Are you asking about the baskets or the scoop? The scoop has a big hole in the top to pour the coffee grounds into the basket, so it would not be suitable for steeping. The basket also has a hole in the top that allows the water from the coffee machine to get to the coffee grounds but I suppose you COULD steep coffee in a mug of hot water if you hold it in the mug without water going into the hole in the top but it would be kind of awkward.
