Question:	I have a horribly placed thermostat right above a gas wall heater. Will this run off the sensor or still trip to cut off when gas heater is on
Answer:	6.6FT telescoping ladder has 5 adjustable rungs, to open the ladder from the top rung, so 1+5=6rungs, one rung may take 5~8seconds, so it may take you around 30~48 seconds. Answer:	You can use the Wave in 2 ways: 1. With Bluetooth: all that is required is to download the Airthings app (iOS or Android) and the app will obtain the measurement data using Bluetooth 2. With an Airthings Hub: the Hub is connected to a power source and Ethernet. It will automatically connect to your Wave using SmartLink and keep your data always up to date so you don't have to use Bluetooth. The Wave can connect to Amazon Alexa, with or without the use of an Airthings Hub - however, the experience is enhanced with use of an Airthings Hub as the measurement data is constantly up to date. Answer:	The difference between the Wave 1st generation and Wave 2nd generation are that the Wave 1st generation provides measurements for radon, temperature, and humidity every hour. The Wave 1st generation is also not equipped with SmartLink which allows you to connected with the Airthings Hub to allow you to always be connected to your monitor. The Wave 2nd generation is much more similar to our Wave Plus under the hood with the firmware and is compatible with the Airthings Hub. Question:	I have a mountain cabin and have no internet, by design! Will this thing work with my smartphone w/o being also connected to the internet
Answer:	Hi there - thanks for your question! This is the way it works: 1. you have to connect to the Wave via Bluetooth with a mobile phone or tablet. Bluetooth connections normally require you to be within approx. 30 ft of the device, and then you can view your up to date data in the app. 2. Once the data has been synced via Bluetooth and you have internet connection, the data will be further pushed to the cloud, enabling you to see your data on the online dashboard. So if you have your Wave in the cabin, you can sync via Bluetooth on your phone, and use your phone's internet connection to push to the cloud if you like! Question:	Replacing batteries on a roof-mounted unit is a pain. I have power there, so can it be modified easily
Answer:	You can convert "anything" battery powered to a AC converted application. Just match your voltage and amperage and seal the hole wire comes through. Easy. Just find a wall wart to match, solder additional lead wires, as required for length. Heat shrink the soldered connection. Given the 4 AA required, and I don't have this unit, my guess is something 5-6 volts with about 800 -1000 mA would work, just check the stats on it.
Question:	I know the manual says batteries in the display are for backup only, but does anyone know about how long it can survive on batteries
Answer:	I bought mine in 2016 & just had to change the batteries today 2/28/2020
Question:	What is the maximum distance between the outside unit and the display? Does the sensor need to be in the shade
Answer:	The distance is 330 ft. However be careful where you place the display from the station. Walls and other things can weaken the signal. It depends on what your house is made of. My house is primarily wood. The signal has no problem reaching the other end of my house (about 150 ft I believe). Also don't place the display near computers or radios or other electronic devices. It can cause interference with your station. Now the outside station it self is does not need shading. I actually recommend you place the station as high as possible (like on a pole on your roof, if you can't, place it no lower than 5ft-6ft from the ground) This ensures that your wind readings are accurate. The thermometer and hydrometer sensors are in the sensor and a internal fan circulates air past the sensors from outside, allowing the temperature readings to stay normal in the sun. Also make sure that station is in a wide open area with nothing around the sensor that could block the wind reaching the station. Typically I would say 50 ft from obstacles but I'm not sure how close. A lot of writing a know but hope this helps you!

The TVOC sensor in the Wave Plus will detect formaldehyde as part of the TVOCs (total volatile organic compound) measurement but keep in mind it does not give a breakdown of each VOC in the air, but the total measured amount. Answer:	Hey! Hey! Our TVOC sensor will indicate the total amount of gaseous chemicals in your environment. Please check out our Help Center on the Airthings website for a breakdown of VOCs. Common sources of VOCs are as follows: Candles and fires Anything that burns gives off fumes. Fireplaces and scented candles are especially harmful, so keep an eye on your levels while using them. Fragrances Mothballs, room deodorizers and perfumes—anything with a fragrance, contain chemicals that should be avoided. Cooking fumes Cooking also creates gases that can be toxic. Always use a hood fan or open a window while cooking indoors. And keep the door closed when grilling outdoors. New furniture New furniture, carpet, drapes, mattresses all contain chemicals that slowly release into the air, often for years after you bring them home. Cleaning products While cleaning with soaps, detergents, furniture polish and glass cleaners be aware of terpenes and ethanol and ventilate accordingly. Craft products Glue, paints, fabrics, wax, dyes, many craft products contain VOCs. Be sure to ventilate while using them. Answer:	Hi there! Thanks for your question. Our Wave Plus doesn't measure PM particles, so it doesn't measure PM 2.5 or PM 10. The Airthings Wave Plus measures CO2 (carbon dioxide), TVOC (airborne chemicals), Radon, temperature, humidity, and air pressure.
