Daylight Bright Red Dot Reticle

The daylight bright 2 MOA dot is fast and easy to use. Choose among ten variable illumination settings—the lowest two settings are night-vision compatible.

The key thing to remember when shooting with the SPARC Red Dot is to keep both of your eyes open! Shooting with both eyes open allows you to take full advantage of your peripheral vision to get on target very quickly. Eye placement is not critical.

Windage and Elevation Adjustments

The SPARC red dot incorporates elevation and windage dials with audible clicks. Each small click will move the point-of-impact one Minute of Angle (MOA). 1 MOA will closely correspond to one inch at 100 yards, 1/2 inch at 50 yards, 1/4 inch at 25 yards, etc.

Elevation Adjustment

Remove the turret cap and turn the inner screw counter-clockwise to adjust the bullet’s point-of-impact up; turn the inner screw clockwise to adjust bullet’s point-of-impact down.

Windage Adjustment

Remove the turret cap and turn the inner screw counter-clockwise to adjust the bullet’s point-of-impact to the right; turn the inner screw clockwise to adjust windage bullet’s point-of-impact to the left.

Mounting the SPARC Red Dot

The SPARC Red Dot can be mounted at two heights, lower 1/3 co-witness and absolute co-witness. To mount it at lower 1/3, mount the sight as received. The optic center will be 40mm above the base surface. To mount for absolute co-witness you can remove the 3mm base shim. The optic center at absolute co-witness will be 37mm above the base surface. To change the mount height, loosen and remove the four base screws and remove the base clamp along with the 3mm shim. Reinstall the base clamp with the four shorter screws supplied with your Red Dot.

Answer:	They are just regular turtle based legs. They will have a bit of resistance when collapsed or when moved into their respective spots. I always just grab the inside leg and the outside and pull them in separate directions. They all should also have a notch in which they lock in place once opened all the way.

Answer:	Yes. We run Alien Bees and/or White Lightning with a 47" octabox. You will need sand bags just to be safe. If your concern is the 47" box with a 4' arm, remember the 47" box is a diameter measurement, you will only need half that to clear the holding arm.

Question:	Does this fit a standard glock 17 gen 3 (not mos)? i believe i need a glock mount plate. do you know what mount plate will work for the vortex venom
Answer:	You can get a plate for Glock Gen 3/Gen 4 that mounts using the rear sight dovetail from EGW (Evolution Gun Works) or you can mount to the rail with something like a UM Tactical UM3 rail mount (mount surrounds the slide and optic is forward), or you could send your Glock out to have it milled for the optic plate. Best option is having the slide milled. If you want the plate from EGW for the Vortex Venom - it is their part number 49313. Keep in mind that this mount plate is aluminum and even a brass punch will damage it. You should use phenolic/plastic or wood dowel punch to align in the dovetail and be prepared to remove some material from the plate dovetail to get it to fit. It has set screws to hold in place - but you should also use locktite. Also keep in mind that using the dovetail plate will place the optic higher than it would be than if the slide was milled. I have Glock 19 MOS with the plate included, and a Trijicon RMR. I could say that mounting to the dovetail will take the gun (Glock) and make the dot acquisition even more difficult. If you are just getting your feet wet on the idea of an optic, then the dovetail might be a low cost way to go. I have also SIG P226 with Romeo1, Canik TP9Sfx with Trijicon RMR also. Both the SIG and Canik are much better in terms of dot acquisition in my opinion than the Glock 19 MOS. Good luck. I have a Vortex Venom that I initially placed on a S&W Victory .22 using the supplied rail - the Venom did not have enough vertical adjustment range to bring up point of aim. I put a Trijicon RMR on it and it was fine. My experience with the Venom may be a fluke, but without changing the mount, the RMR was fine. Good luck.

Answer:	Yes it does mount to an FNX-45 Tactical, I know because I did it! Just use 2 of the 5-40 mount screws that should have come with your FNX-45. No mount plate, mods or anything extra required. Just 2 screws with a little blue lock-tite. Works perfectly!

Answer:	The sight will directly attach to a picatinny rail. On a semi auto pistol that is not pre cut for the sight, you must purchase a dove tail mount. Attach the sight to the mount, remove rear sight and install into dove tail.

Remove the turret cap and use the raised bar on the cover or a coin to turn the adjustment dial. Move the dials in the direction you wish the bullet’s point-of-impact to change. Mounting the Crossfire Red Dot

The Crossfire Red Dot can be mounted on a variety of platforms using the high mount or low mount.

• Attach the unit to the rail/base with the illumination dial positioned on the right side.

Question:	Are you able to still use flip up sights in case of failure
Answer:	Absolutely ! This occupies a very small portion of a full-length upper rail. Your back up sights are at the ends of that rail. With the tall mount it perfectly co-witness's with flip-up sights. I chose the UTG slim BUISs.

Answer:	I have not used the 22 but I can say the 30 is made of fantastic quality compared to some of the other red dot sights I think its amazing. It is very accurate and the red dot is very easy to see at many different light levels.
Question:	How do you activate the motion auto-on feature? As of right now the only way to turn it on or off is through the power button
Answer:	You say that the auto on/off is activated only after I turn it on. Then, after an hour it will go off. When I pick it up again, it will go on. So, how long does it have to be off before I need to turn it on again with the switch. If what you say is true, I would only need the switch once, and that would be to turn it on. From then on, every time I put it down it would go off in an hour, and every time after that I pick it up, it would come on. So ... which is it? Is it auto on/off, or is it only auto off?.

Question:	Which will co-witness better, venom or the viper? i have suppressor sights on my gun and a milled slide. which of these will sit lowest on the slide
Answer:	The actual base contacting the rail is 1 1/2". The unit itself is 4 1/2". My pop up rear sight is partially under this magnifier, but I just have to tilt the magnifier to the side and then I can pop up the sight, if needed.
Question:	What is different between vortex venom and viper? What work best for pistol
Answer:	I set mine facing the other way, but I don’t see why not. I know the mount can be use both ways and I do not see why the magnifier, which attaches to the mount, can not be switch around. I am almost 100% sure it will work, but you should contact Tacticon and ask them just to make sure. They are great people to deal with . Hope this help .

Answer:	The reason they asked guys is because... 1. The lenses are less prone to fogging internally with pressure, temp, and humidity changes. 2. Nitrogen is an inert gas. Any possible contaniments during manufacturing will not cause adverse degradation in the materials as oxygen would. To answer your question though. I have been hunting and target shooting with this for years. I haven't noticed any fogging of the lenses in any conditions. I live in the upper mid-west where deer hunting in Nov often involves temps in the teens and snow. I have had this thing out in negative temps all the way into the upper 90's. No issues including being used in rainy conditions. I would say for the price it is doubtful. But you never can be certain these days. Hope this helps.

The daylight bright red dot is easy to see and paints targets regardless of lighting conditions or background.

Up to 150 hours of use at highest setting.

Windage and Elevation Adjustment

The Viper features adjustable elevation and windage dials with 1 MOA marks.

To adjust the elevation and windage settings:

1. Loosen both Adjustment Lock Screws 1½ turns.

2. Adjust dials up or down or left or right as indicated by arrows.

3. Re-tighten both lock screws after making adjustments.

Mounting the Viper

The Viper red dot is shipped from the factory with a low rail mount that clamps to both a Weaver or Picatinny rail.

1. Attach the low rail mount to the Viper using the included screws.

2. Attach the Viper to the Picatinny base rail, making sure the recoil lug is solidly seated in the base groove.

3. Check to see that the clamp is fully down and hooked around the outside of the base.

4. Press the Viper down and forward toward the muzzle and, using the supplied hex wrench, firmly tighten down the clamp screw.

In addition to the supplied low rail mount, an optional riser mount places the Viper red dot at correct height for rifles.

Answer:	You should not have a problem. That was the reason bought this item. I also have a scope on my AR and 45 off set works perfect as a back up

Answer:	I put it on my semi auto 12 ga and it worked fine. No adjustment even needed. Accurate at 70 yards. Did loosen up after 2 rounds but re-tightened it and had no further problem. Fired about 20 slug rounds after re-tightening. Good quik reaction red dot sight.

Answer:	The pouch is about 8 inches long. I just checked a butter knife and it was definitely too long to fit.

Answer:	Yes, and even if for some reason it doesn't, Sig has an excellent warranty. The recoil from a 45-70 is strong, but it's more of a push rather than a smack. I would be more worried about the recoil from a 300 win mag.
