10 best pump bb guns

Pump BB guns, also known as pump-action BB guns, are air guns that use a manual pumping mechanism to build up air pressure in a chamber before firing. These guns are popular among shooting enthusiasts, particularly for recreational target shooting and plinking. Here's what you should know about pump BB guns:

  1. Operation: Pump BB guns are typically powered by compressed air. To prepare the gun for a shot, the user manually pumps a lever or handle, which compresses air in a chamber within the gun. The more times you pump the gun, the higher the air pressure, which can impact the velocity and power of the shot.

  2. BBs: These guns use BBs (ball bearings) as projectiles, which are small, spherical metal or plastic pellets. BBs are usually loaded into a reservoir within the gun, and they are gravity-fed into the firing chamber when the gun is pumped and ready to fire.

  3. Velocity: The velocity or speed at which a BB is propelled from a pump BB gun depends on the number of pumps and the design of the gun. More pumps generally result in higher velocities. Some pump BB guns allow users to adjust the number of pumps for different shooting experiences.

  4. Accuracy: Pump BB guns can offer good accuracy for short to medium-range shooting. They are commonly used for target practice and plinking, which is informal shooting at various targets.

  5. Safety: As with all firearms and air guns, safety is paramount when using pump BB guns. Users should treat them with the same respect and caution as they would with any firearm. Eye protection is essential when shooting BBs, as they can bounce back or ricochet.

  6. Ammunition Types: BBs come in various materials, including steel and plastic. Steel BBs are typically used in pump BB guns and offer better accuracy compared to plastic BBs.

  7. Types of Pump Actions: Pump BB guns may have different pump-action mechanisms, including single-pump and multi-pump options. Single-pump guns are simpler to use but may have lower velocities, while multi-pump guns offer more power but require more effort to pump.

  8. Usage: Pump BB guns are often used for recreational shooting, plinking, and sometimes for pest control at close range. They are not typically used for hunting larger game due to their limited power and range.

  9. Legal Considerations: The sale, possession, and use of pump BB guns may be subject to local and national laws and regulations. It's important to be aware of and follow these regulations, especially in urban or populated areas.

Remember that safety should always be a top priority when using any type of firearm or air gun.Always follow safety guidelines and use appropriate protective gear when shooting with pump BB guns.

User questions & answers

Question: How do i get extra clips for this gun
Answer: No... You need to mount it and zero it in... Not difficult but of questionable value.... You can scope your shot but your range of any bb gun is not equal to your scoped range. Pellets are slightly better
Question: I don't see an orange tag to display that its not real . Is there one
Answer: I just recently purchased this gun and after seeing these answers about how bad this scope is, I wanted to put in my 2 cents. First, when I first attached the scope, I noticed that the scope was not in line with the barrel. When I loosened the screws on the left side of the scope where it loosens the rings around the scope, the scope aligned well with the barrel. Then when I shot a pellet at 50 ft, I noticed it was VERY OFF (six inches down and an inch to the right). A friend recommended zero'ing the scope so I zeroed as much as I could and now, i can get an inch grouping. I'm sure there are a lot better scopes out there but this works a lot better than I expected.
Question: Not shipping to my area y
Answer: I killed a groundhog with it using BBs. It took 3 shots, with the third shot being a head shot as I stood above him.
Question: Is this a single pump or multiple pumps per shot
Answer: I had this same gun when I was 6, and so did my brother who was 7 at the time. I can't begin to describe the amazing memories we both have, to the point that now in our 30s we both still talk about the countless hours and thousands of rounds fired out of them. I still own mine, although it's a little rickety, and hasn't been fired in a decade or so. Bottom line, if you think your 11 year old is responsible enough, and you explain safety to them, they can handle it

Answer: Rail will be standard picatinny rail.

Answer: CAK1 includes picatinny rail
Question: Does this gun come with a TRUGLO fiber optic front sight? While the description says so the picture clearly shows a standard metal sight
Answer: NO
Question: what is the fps on this gun
Answer: It absolutely does, but it is not a full functioning bolt, and the blowback is more seen than felt. You can get better effect with other air and airsoft rifles though. The bolt on this gun does not chamber or index a round so it just snaps back and forth so they can say it’s “blowback”.

User questions & answers

Question: Can you use plastic bb's
Answer: Not an airsoft gun. Dont try to use it as such
Question: Can you use .177steal bbs
Answer: That is what it was made for. The bolt is magnetic which holds themin place as it slides bbs into the breech. I don't think it would workwith copper bbs.
Question: Haven't been able to get even one test shot off. The slider won't slide forward to the notch, it is stopped by some sort of metal pin. Is it broken
Answer: The metal pin is the spring-loaded pin that is normally in the bottom of the block. I had this same defect; y ou can take the rifle apart and put the pin back into the base of the bolt, or you can just return it for another gun; which is what I did. This is caused by firing the gun with the bolt not fully forward.
Question: Would this gun be a good choice for my 7yr old sons first bb gun
Answer: Yes, if you’re willing to supervise and teach him safety. This rifle is powerful enough to kill birds/squirrels. That being said, at 7, he probably can’t load or pump it alone. I was just shooting one with a 3 year old and six year old, both girls. Neither is strong enough to cock it and load a BB, and the 6 year old can just barely pump it once. The six year old can actually shoulder it properly, not so for the 3 year old. It’s too big for her. Anything under 5-6 pumps and you can actually see the BB when it’s flying through the air. It would hurt bad, and maybe stick in your skin, but no real damage. At 10 pumps, it would do some damage. It wouldn’t be lethal unless it was some freak accident and hit an artery or something. I had one of these as a kid. I probably got it around 7-8 and used it for 7-8 years. I killed many birds with it as a little hooligan. My parents gave it to me unsupervised after a while, maybe around 10. I think anyone 10+ can actually load and pump it. Like others have said, it’s not a toy. It’s a legit BB/pellet rifle. Proper safety is important. But if your goal is to teach your 7 year old son proper safety, firearms handling, and marksmanship, I think this is the best rifle made. Generations of Americans have grown up shooing this rifle. My son is a newborn, but he will have one waiting on him. It will be the first gun he shoots.

Answer: The Daisy Powerline 901 air rifle is a dual action multi-pump pneumatic air rifle, you can use .177 cal BB's or .177 cal pellets.
Question: Can I drop the pellets in the barrel
Answer: No. You pull the cocking mechanism back, and load one pellet at a time into the barrel with the hollow end facing you. It is an easy procedure...I love this gun...better than guns 4 times as much money
Question: Will 4.5mms plastic BB's work in this rifle
Answer: No they will not. this gun takes regular .177 cal bb's, and they are ALWAYS metal, like lead, copper, alloy; plastic bb's are for airsoft guns.
Question: When a BB is loaded, and you tip the barrel down, will the BB roll out or is the barrel ID tight enough to hold it in place
Answer: It holds it in place until you pull the trigger. Most of the newer ones you can load a pellet on at a time into the chamber also.

User questions & answers

Question: Homes where I live are fairly close together. If I shoot a a squirrel at 10 feet high and miss, how far will the pellet travel
Answer: About 75 or 100 feet
Question: What size scope can be mounted on the rails
Answer: The Daisy scope I have is a 30mm diameter barrel. The magnification is variable 3x to 9x. There are a lot of scopes out there and I think they all have attachments for different rail sizes. Some rails are wider than others so you should measure yours before purchase. I think anything smaller in diameter does not allow enough light to your eye to be able to see the target well. 30mm is a nice clear sight picture.
Question: how long is this rifle
Answer: 38 inches
Question: Is the pump action back and forth or do you pull it down to pump it
Answer: You pull the pump handle down and out, then return it to the original position to pump this rifle.
