Answer:	Hi Jennifer, trekking poles can indeed be used by kids! We do have customers who have purchased our poles for their kids and who've found that the poles truly help their kids especially on uphill or uneven terrain. Now, for choosing the right trekking pole for them, there are several factors you need to consider. First is the height - you can measure the length between your child's elbow to the ground and if they are at least 24.5 inches, then our poles should be suitable for their height. Other factors to consider are weight and the size of the grip - and these two really depend on your kids' strength and hand size. There are poles that are specifically made for kids with a lighter weight and smaller grip and these might be more suitable especially for your 5-year old. The disadvantage of it is that kids can outgrow those poles quite quickly due to limited length adjustability (they are shorter, which makes them lighter). Our poles should not be a problem for your 7 and 10 year old, but might be a bit on the heavy side for your 5-year old (each pole is 9.7 ounces which is roughly the weight of 5 tennis balls), but on the plus side, it will also grow with your child and will last him a long time. Question:	Can I hike with them through rivers? Can these get wet
Answer:	Yes, in fact it would be good to have these if you're going through rivers - they'll save you from accidental slips especially if the rocks are a bit slippery, and you can also use them to gauge and test the ground (or riverbed) that you're about to step on. We'd recommend giving the poles a thorough drying afterwards though by taking them apart and patting dry or air drying. As with all things metal, rust is an enemy and drying the poles will help prevent that.
Question:	How long are the poles at their shortest? Will they fit in my suitcase
Answer:	It's 24.5 inches short when collapsed. However if that still won't fit your suitcase, you can disassemble it and the length will go down to 21 inches. It'll be very easy to put it back together if you disassemble it.
Question:	Do the new Trailbuddy screw-on rubber tips screw on to these poles? The pictures don't show a lower set of threads on the tips
Answer:	Makers of Trailbuddy told me yesterday that they had worked on a new set of threads that attach the rubber tips so that they cannot come off. Easy Quick Lock Mechanism

Before using your poles, make sure that your locks are firmly secured. While the tip is on the ground, test to ensure the lock is secure by pushing on the top of the handle so the tip presses into the ground. If your pole shortens while doing this then you need to readjust the height and tighten the lock more.

Step 1. Open Tab and Adjust

Fully open the quick lock tab and adjust to desired height.

Step 2. Tighten Thumbscrew

Tighten Thumbscrew by turning it 1/4" to 1/2" turns clockwise.

Step 3. Close Quick Lock Tab

Quick Lock Tab should be difficult to close when properly tightened.

Step 4. Test and Readjust

Apply weight to the pole. If pole begins to collapse, repeat steps 1-3 until it remains at desired height.

However, in future, I see a full swing upper body movement when striding along a nice walking path we have near our house. Question:	Are they noisy when walking? I'm looking for a trekking pole that is quiet when being used to stalk big game in Idaho
Answer:	Well, the trekking poles don’t double as rifles.....altho they assemble fairly quietly, I would do that prior to going out. The wrist loops are nice but even if you use only one (as I did for my last hike), it’s not short enough to keep it from dragging on the ground. Basically, the pole will only be as quiet as whatever is underfoot and wherever you place it. Also comes with several different tips (which might help in softening any sounds.

Question:	Are the poles too long for 5'4"? Want to share with 5'11" husband
Answer:	I am 5’4” and I feel these poles are a tiny bit to long. While using them I place my grip under the lower notch. I wish they were a bit shorter. Other than that I’ve enjoyed using them.

Answer:	Straighten the parts together and you'll see a lock/unlock symbol on the last section, closest to the handle. The line mark should point to the "locked" symbol and then you have to pull downward until you hear a click. This will lock the parts together so they don't fall apart. I was frustrated with this part also until I realized how hard I had to pull to make this work. Just know you have to pull very hard to engage this lock. It works very well after that.

Answer:	Hi Jennifer, trekking poles can indeed be used by kids! We do have customers who have purchased our poles for their kids and who've found that the poles truly help their kids especially on uphill or uneven terrain. Now, for choosing the right trekking pole for them, there are several factors you need to consider. First is the height - you can measure the length between your child's elbow to the ground and if they are at least 24.5 inches, then our poles should be suitable for their height. Other factors to consider are weight and the size of the grip - and these two really depend on your kids' strength and hand size. There are poles that are specifically made for kids with a lighter weight and smaller grip and these might be more suitable especially for your 5-year old. The disadvantage of it is that kids can outgrow those poles quite quickly due to limited length adjustability (they are shorter, which makes them lighter). Our poles should not be a problem for your 7 and 10 year old, but might be a bit on the heavy side for your 5-year old (each pole is 9.7 ounces which is roughly the weight of 5 tennis balls), but on the plus side, it will also grow with your child and will last him a long time. Answer:	Yes, in fact it would be good to have these if you're going through rivers - they'll save you from accidental slips especially if the rocks are a bit slippery, and you can also use them to gauge and test the ground (or riverbed) that you're about to step on. We'd recommend giving the poles a thorough drying afterwards though by taking them apart and patting dry or air drying. As with all things metal, rust is an enemy and drying the poles will help prevent that.
Question:	Do the tips screw on or push on
Answer:	It's 24.5 inches short when collapsed. However if that still won't fit your suitcase, you can disassemble it and the length will go down to 21 inches. It'll be very easy to put it back together if you disassemble it.
Question:	Is this sold as a pair or a single pole
Answer:	Makers of Trailbuddy told me yesterday that they had worked on a new set of threads that attach the rubber tips so that they cannot come off. They promised to send me a new lower pole with new tips. I do not know when this will come/ and be offered online. It sounds as if it will be soon...in the next few weeks.

Answer:	Yes. I'm not sure what these others are talking about but the Revis no locking mechanism on the sections of these poles. They just loosely slide together, and are in constant danger of sliding apart again in use.

Answer:	You have to pull the pole into the open position, and you'll hear the " click " of it locking. I had the same issue the first time, but once you know how it works it's easy to do. Grasp the upper and lower sections above below the locking clip, and pull them away from one another.

Question:	Can I buy extra rubber tips and baskets for these trekking poles
Answer:	Cannot understand why that would happen unless you are not pulling the upper section up till the little ball comes out and clicks the rod in place. Sorta like an umbrella.
Question:	What is the fully collapsed length of the trekking poles? I want to make sure they fit in my suitcase
Answer:	Well, the trekking poles don’t double as rifles.....altho they assemble fairly quietly, I would do that prior to going out. The wrist loops are nice but even if you use only one (as I did for my last hike), it’s not short enough to keep it from dragging on the ground. Basically, the pole will only be as quiet as whatever is underfoot and wherever you place it. Also comes with several different tips (which might help in softening any sounds.
Question:	This might be a silly quest...can you use one and give the other to a partner or is it a left or right kinda thing

Question:	Do these poles have a carbide tip? And are these grips foam make to look like cork, or is it real cork
Answer:	There are two models; one with real cork and one with a very nice cork like material. The non cork model comes with a slightly longer pole expansion for we tall people. I think the material is excellent...feels great, functions perfectly.
