Answer:	Yes you can use this product as a renewal method. No need to re-download Webroot, either. Just purchase the product and use the new activation code to renew the subscription! Please do this the day before or day of your subscription running out as the time does not carry over if you do it early.
Question:	Each year i feel some "victory" from buying the $19 amazon version rather than the $40ish version...but do i really need antivirus protection
Answer:	My guess is yes! Because I have Webroot, I never have an invasion, so its a lot like car insurance. Do you need car insurance? Absolutely not; until you have an accident. I'm told insurance companies don't sell policies that cover accidents that happened prior to the policies effective date. To me, Webroot is an insurance policy. $20.00 is a very small premium price for a year.......Wish I could get an insurance deal like that for my Ford pickup truck.

Answer:	Your subscription begins upon installation - not upon purchase. You will have 365 days from when you first download, which activates your subscription. To download, you will take the code you receive from Amazon and go to https://www.mcafee.com/activate and enter your code. You will be asked for an email to set up an account with McAfee. You will also be asked to auto-enroll which requires a credit card, but this step is optional. You can skip it if you like. Once you finish that step, the download and installation will begin and so will your subscription. Your question was cut off, but I'm guessing you were going to say you want to install at some later time. You can hold onto that code as long as you wish and download whenever you are ready. As long as you choose to extend your current subscription, it will just move your expiration date out by 1 year without any reinstall required. If you purchase a different version, even if it is just a different device count, you will need to reinstall. Also, you don't need to wait for it to expire - you can redeem the new code at any time and it will adjust your expiration date by 1 year, regardless of when that date occurs. Have you gone to https://www.mcafee.com/activate, entered your new code, entered the same email address you entered when you first signed up and then entered your credit card information when asked? If that is what you are saying and are still showing May 28, 2020 as your expiration date, then you will need to contact our support department to figure out why the expiration date hasn't updated. They can be reached at service.mcafee.com or 866-622-3911. If you are saying you bought this from Amazon and it says "with Auto Renewal" so you believe your expiration date should be updated, then you just haven't done enough yet to enable it. To enroll in auto-renewal, we do need your credit card information so that we can automatically charge it when it is time for renewal. You need to follow those steps I outlined above (go to that exact URL, enter your code, type in the same email address your account is under and then click the button to enable Auto-renew and enter your credit card information). Answer:	To confirm the answers others have provided, yes you can. Go to https://www.mcafee.com/activate and enter this code. You will need to sign into your McAfee account and it will ask if you want to extend the existing subscription or start a new one. Choose to extend your current and your expiry date will be extended by a year. You will not need to reinstall if you already had McAfee Total Protection installed. And yes, as others have mentioned, opt out of auto-renewal. You may get a screen that doesn't have a button to opt-out. Answer:	McAfee software is version-less - meaning that you receive the most current version when you download and we update the software constantly as we find new threats and develop methods to counter them. This is our 2018 packaging and we aren't updating it for 2019, so this is what you will see all next year, but you will always have the most up-to-date version on your devices, as long as you connect to the internet regularly to receive the updates.
