Question:	How do you get chickens to drink out of this? Mine just sip until the cup is empty then they stare at it
Answer:	just let a few drops of water fill the bowl, so the chickens have to hit the yellow float when they drink. They will get the hang of it once they start hitting the float and water slowly fills back up. There should not be any water in the bowls if the chickens are not drinking. If the bowls are full to the top all the time, they are leaking.

Answer:	Yes; I switched brands (to RentACoop) and have had good success. They even withstood a couple freezes (to 16 degrees F) when I did not take preventative steps, without damage to unit.

Question:	What do I do if one continues to fill after cup is full. (Leaking
Answer:	There are a few things that can be done to troubleshoot a leaking cup. 1. Check to see if there is debris around the valve of the cup where it screws into the elbow. 2. Make sure the cup is level and the plastic it is installed into is not too thin causing it to bow forward and drip. 3. Try backing the cup out a few turns to make sure the valve isn't caught in threads. If you try the above and are not having success, Backyard Barnyard will gladly replace the cup.
Question:	Can this system be used with PVC piping instead of directly into bucket wall
Answer:	Yes. It will work with pvc piping. We recommend using tee fittings designed for 1/8” threads.
Question:	I want these to work desperately. We have created a pvc system but all the cups overflow. Is there a secret to the pvc that helps balance water flow
Answer:	I used them with a bucket ... maybe the water flow is too fast.
Question:	Do the floats get stuck (freeze) in the winter
Answer:	I don't know we haven't been through a winter with them yet. My chickens won't peck at the other kind that has to be pecked at( too lazy) so I really like this kind so far. Im thinking having another thawed out and switch them out when it freezes. Winter is coming........

Question:	Does the drinker have a locking pin at the base or is it with a single hole at the base of the top portion
Answer:	It has a locking pin. However, we have found this font to be of poor quality. It doesn’t create a good vacuum seal at all and always dribbles until it’s empty. I bought it during the first lockdown because all our local farm supply stores were sold out of waterers and on back order. I’d recommend doing whatever you can to find something else.

Answer:	No sorry

Answer:	It will not work without the bottom trough. Notify customer service

Answer:	Not meant to be hung. I would go with a plastic watering container. These rust to easily.
Question:	Is the 5 quart for chicks or for adult chickens
Answer:	This is a pretty good size and I use for adult chickens. I hang it so the girls stand up and drink from it. You probably could sit it on the ground for chicks but it would need to be outside of a small space.
Question:	Do you think I could hang this and keep it out for wild birds
Answer:	Yes if you have something incredibly strong to hang it on. The thing is extremely heavy with the water.After reeding the other answers, I agree that birds landing on it would cause it to spill / pour out the entire time they are in it.
Question:	does this have foldable legs to stand it up in the pen rather than hang it
Answer:	No, it does not have foldable legs, but it sets very well on the green ring. If it had legs I think it would not be stable. We have not hung ours but I think it would work well that way too. We do use pine shavings and found that flat on the floor the chickens were kicking some shavings into the dish, but we set it on top of a couple pieces of 10 inch scrap 2 x 4 and its stayed very clean. We have 8 large hens and only need to refill it every other day. It cleans very easily as well.
Question:	how do you fill the waterer
Answer:	You turn it upside down, twist off the green bottom, fill with water and then twist the green plastic piece back on. Turn it right side up and it is ready to go.

Question:	Where are the nuts to secure these things down
Answer:	If you drill the holes properly, you don't need nuts. The cups just screw into your plastic container. My advice from experience - the recommended bit size is too big. Start small and work up!

Answer:	You cant screw the cups into a rubber/soft hose and they would leak

Answer:	Make sure is a tight fit. Mine dont leak at all.

Answer:	I honestly don’t think that Cockatiels are strong enough to make the water come out. It took 10 week old chickens about a week to figure it out and they struggled a little. Just my opinion...

Answer:	0.8 cm, which matches the size of the drinking bo
Question:	What size bit do you use for the holes
Answer:	I used a 3/8 because most of the ones I've seen calls for 3/8. At first I put thread seal tape on them because they were a little bit loose and if the chickens stepped on them they would sometimes pop out and leak water. I then added Water Weld. That works pretty good but the containers I use have thicker sidewalls than a bucket so the Water weld has popped loose on some of those, despite my efforts rough up the container wall . So I went yesterday and purchased Oatey pipe cement and I think that will stop the problem. Good luck😂

Answer:	It is 15" wide and 13" high. I really like this waterer.

Answer:	The black floater in between the white bucket and the colored trough NEEDS to be maintained. In weather hot/cold, the floater will fill with water, rendering the fount useless, allowing water to leak out with in hours. This NEEDS to be communicated to ALL buyers! Else your bucket will leak and make you crazy after a while, forcing a new purchase....
Question:	Do you have to fill it up with a hose? Or would a re-used milk jug (or similar) work just as well
Answer:	its can get quite heavy when you fill it up. So I'll leave it in a stationary area and fill it up with a quart hug/container meant for juice. I use sink water and not hose water due to the chemicals. I don't see why you couldn't use a milk jug as long as it's cleaned out really well. Of course I always make sure it's clean before I add fresh water.
Question:	Why is water not flowing to the trough when I fill up the bucket
Answer:	If it's new. Then make sure you pull the red plug out from the inside of bucket and let it float. The red plug is so it wont let water out until you get it to were you want it in the pen.
