Question:	how tall is the cage only
Answer:	Yes!!! As a former breeder of rats, this cage would be perfect for them!! The space is great and there's no possible way for them to bite thru the steel bars.
Question:	So the large trays are solid? There are no wire floor above it? I'm asking because the cage we have now has a wire floor with a pull-out tray beneath
Answer:	Yes, but you wouldn't be able to have the floor in between them because you'd have to remove the top of the double nation and the bottom of the single nation to join them. That's how I have mine setup. You basically have one giant open cage on top with just the shelves, and a regular cage in the bottom which can be opened to the top one or not. If you do this, I recommend getting another shelf for the upper cage. It's probably simpler and cheaper to just get the add on version if all you want is a triple level cage. I had a single one I found on craigslist, so it was cheaper for me to do it my way.
Question:	can this be used for grown fancy rats
Answer:	I currently have a great used one with all pieces included, plus bonus add on pieces that I am including for sale if you're interested. If not, good luck.

Answer:	This is way too small for ALL HAMSTERS no exemptions .th minimum of cage requirements are 459 sq inches having too small of a cage will lead to stress and can and most likely will lead to wet tail an that will most likely kill them. Question:	Is this 2 separate cages stacked on each other
Answer:	33" with the legs and rollers. The animal part is 18 in from metal floor to top. If you take out the metal floor you would add approx another 6 inches or so to the height of the actual cage (sorry not exact on that, I didn't measure that bit while I was upstairs) If you use it with metal floor for a rabbit, you may end up needing to make a pee guard (we used Alum flashing) Hope this helps. Well made & fairly straight forward & easy to assemble.

Answer:	I'm not sure the exact size but my dwarf hamster fot easily through it.

Answer:	I just shake off any bedding that was stuck to it otherwise I dont think you can actually wash it or anything.

Answer:	I think it's too rough of a surface for them. Also don't think holes are big enough, even for a small parakeet. Might be better off with a small hamster or gerbil house. The entrance is much bigger.

Answer:	My gunnies pigs hate this cage, they are so uncomfortable with it. I have to bring back there old one inside. Gave them 3 weeks in it and they are losing weight and don’t want eat or drink. They are scared to use the stairs. I tried using fresh vegetables to get them up there and still didn’t work. They just stay miserable at the bottom. I don’t recommend for g pigs

Answer:	Yes, this is very sturdy. I have a chinchilla & she loves to sit on this shelf. It secures firmly to side of wire cage. The shelf is actually much bigger than I anticipated.

Answer:	I'm sure you would be able to. The chain comes off quite easily. The chain was not safe for my chinchilla, so I gave him all the separate chew toys and he loved them. The ledge is very sturdy and attached to the cage easily. I'm probably going to buy more for his cage.

Answer:	The grey parts are chunks of lava rock for chewing. I’m not sure what species of wood disks are hanging on the chain. The wooden balls seem to be made from the same wood as the platform.

Question:	How far apart are the bars
Answer:	Model 181 is the bottom cage with shelf only.Model 182 is bottom cage/shelf and an add on unit.Model 183 is only an add on unit that you can add to models 181 or 182.Hope this helps :)
Question:	Are the base and larger middle floor wire flooring
Answer:	I own both cages. the bar spacing for Critter Nation is 1/2" and Ferret Nation is 1", but the other significant difference is that Critter Nation has horizontal bars that are ideal for climbing critters and Ferret Nation has vertical bars in addition to the larger bar spacing and works best for bigger animals whose lives don't revolved around climbing. The pans, shelves, and ramps are the exact same for both cages. My guess the difference in price is due to Critter Nation having many twice as many bars as Ferret Nation cages.
