I wish I would of gotten the small at the time so she could of worn it longer since I loved the color. This is a step in harness not one that goes over the head so don’t worry about neck size at this time.

Answer:	I am not sure - I measured our dog's neck and chest and went by that...when I received the harness it would not fit her neck. Boston's have big necks.

Answer:	My 10 pound dog can wiggle her way out of it. I think your cat is probably more agile than my chihuahua :) Your cat may be able to squeeze out of it. Maybe a small would fit more snugly than the medium. Other than that its a really good quality harness and if properly fit its safe and seems comfortable for the pet.

Collar versus Harness

There is nothing wrong with using a collar and a leash on a dog, as people have used them for a long time. A collar is a good functional tool when training your dog to walk on a leash. The use of a collar can sometimes cause strains in your dog's neck and trachea and for small breed dogs, this can be very dangerous. Smaller breed dogs have small necks and small necks have fragile throats and tracheas. Using a collar can sometimes lead to a collapsed trachea and cause respiratory problems. Legacy Harness A by Puppia, a new outdoor premium line ‘Puppia Life’, is an upgrade version of Puppia Soft Harness with artificial leather and air-mesh schemed. Available in Red, White, Grey, and Black in sizes ranging from Small to XX-Large. Please note that because these products were created with small breeds in mind, larger sizes (i.e. Large, Extra-Large, etc.) do not necessarily mean larger breeds. Please refer to image of the size chart. It is very important to measure your dog with a tape measure according to the size chart. As a general rule of thumb, if your dog falls in between sizes, it is usually better to go up a size. Weight figures are for estimates only. Always use actual measurements.
