Answer:	I'm not sure but I will tell you this. Any HD connected to the StarTech , I bought the 2.5/3.5" SATA/IDE version, is recognized. It's basically an external HD. I would say yes. Just make sure the drive is powered!

Answer:	I have not tried connecting a USB 3 device into an eSATA port, so I can't offer advice. Those already responding say this won't work. Also, remember this cable will work fine for a connection with only 1 device. In my case I was connecting two external drives (in a BlackX Duet external Dock Station) via an eSATA connection into one USB3 port on my computer. For this to work the convertor cable or device must support the Port Multiplier protocol. This StarTech cable does not. However, Amazon also offers a DATOptic convertor which DOES support this protocol and has been working fine for me. Answer:

Depends on how your case is laid out. If the case is crowded, it may be difficult to get the motherboard side of the cable connected (both ends are the same but you'll connect one to the drive and one to the motherboard). This isn't a fault of the cable, of course. I will say that the locking clips keep the cable connected. I used these to replace non-clipped cables and those would work themselves loose a couple of times per month. I haven't had one come loose since I bought these.

Question:	I need a drive belt for my 1994 MTD 2 stage snowblower 8hp/26" would this work
Answer:	"Will the sata drive be bootable when connected through this adapter?" It was bootable for me. I seem to remember it will only work as a master drive and there was no way to set to be a slave drive or to connect a slave drive to the same connector. If you need to connect a 2nd device, you will need to connect it to a seperate IDE controller. I cannot guarantee it will work for you, as there are different BIOSs that it might not be compatible with. If you have a BIOS that allows you to set which drive to boot from, you will need to make sure it's set it to the master/first drive (some BIOSs refer to the first drive as drive 0) for the connector you are connecting it to.
