Answer:	The battery pack consists of two 12V 20Ah VRSLA batteries which are commonly sourced. The date code should be stamped on the top of the battery, if the battery voltage is below 10V it's likely they will be unable to hold a charge. Flip the battery over and there should be two screws on each of the four sides including the two hidden ones by the Anderson PowerPole connector. The two 12V 20Ah batteries are wired in series for a total of 24V. Battery replacement should be a fairly trivial job taking at most 10 minutes for the experienced and 30 minutes for the inexperienced. For replacement batteries consider 12V VRSLA deep discharge AGMs for longer runtime and life.

Answer:	There are 2 things that are known to cause premature death of a Lithium battery - whether it's a leaf blower, cell phone, or electric vehicle battery: Excessive heat and excessive state of charge/discharge. Lithium batteries do best in moderate temperature range and moderate state of charge, i.e. keep them cool (but not too cold) and try to charge/use them within the range of 80% to 20% state of charge, as much as possible. These batteries do have built-in safety circuitry to prevent overheating, overdischarging, and overcharging, but the setting is likely a compromise b/w runtime and longevity, so if you want to prioritize longevity then you might have to compromise on runtime. I live n Florida, and have a 5 year old 40v GW lawn mower and a leaf blower, with one 4Ah and two spare 2Ah batteries with no noticeable reduction in runtime yet. They do get heavy use, so I was not expecting them to last this long, but I do follow a few simple rules to protect the batteries. : 1. Always store the batteries partially charged - somewhere b/w 1-2 LED indicators. 2. Always store the batteries inside my climate controlled home, to protect them from temperature extremes and humidity. 3. Charge to full about 1 hour before use, and allow thme to cool down first before use. 4. While running the mower or blower, I check the charge indicator occasionally and change the battery when the indicator gets down to one LED. 5. I store the battery Never store the battery in fully charged, or discharged state. Between use, I store the batteries with no more than 2 LEDs.

Answer:	I believe so. I cut going forward then back instead of turning because my lawn is small. I never had a bad cut with this mower.

Answer:	I also live in Western Washington and left my mower in a lean-to type shed and it did not age well. Not only did the electronic parts degrade but the plastic parts also degraded. I suggest keeping in the most climate controlled space you can.

Answer:	You should never have more than a 5% voltage drop over the length of an extension cord. Given that this is a 10-amp device, for performance, cord durability, and most importantly, safety, you should have a 16 gauge cord for 50ft (4.2%, 5 volt drop), and 12 gauge cord for 100ft (3.3%, 4 volt drop) and 150ft (4.9%, 5.9 volt drop). Always err on the side of a larger cord (smaller gauge number is larger) when dealing with electricity, even though such cords are typically more expensive. $10-$20 can be the difference between working/broken equipment or something catching on fire. Be careful about someone using a 16 gauge cord under acceptable conditions, but then adding an extension and causing problems.

Question:	How long is the cord
Answer:	As several people have stated, it dosn't come with a cord. You must buy a separate outdoor extension cord long enogh for your use. One person stated he used a 100 ft 10 amp cord. I hope he ment a 10 gage cord. I wouldn't recomend running a 13 amp motor on a cord rated for 10 amps. I use a 100 ft 14 gage cord. 14 gage wire is rated for 15 amps, 12 gage for 20 amps and 10 gage for 30 amps. I find the mower runs on the 14 gage without heating the wire at all. If the wire gets hot, you are using to small of a wire. Go to a smaller gage number to carry more amps.
Question:	Is this lawn mower self-propelled
Answer:	No. It's not self propelled. It's very light until the bag fills up. You just need to empty the bag when it feels heavy. It's really for a smaller lawn. I wouldn't use an electric mower on a large lawn.

Answer:	Amazon's ad says 4 years. The bottom motor bearing just blew out on mine 2 months after the 4 year warranty expired so I guess I'm boned. I will probably buy the same mower again though. It has worked great up to yesterday when the motor suddenly just seized up. I borrowed my sister's 18" greenworks mower to finish the job. They both work (worked) great.

Answer:	A 14 gauge cord should be safe with a 12-amp mower. Some would recommend a 12 gauge cord if you need 100ft. The mower will have a bit more power with the heavier gauge (due to reduced voltage drop in the cord) but the cord will be heavier and more expensive.

Question:	why is the brushless mower different
Answer:	Brushless motors use 3 phase power and are typically much more efficient than brushed motors. They are also a sealed motor that doesn't maintenance because there are no brushes and dust can get inside. Even though they are simpler the electronics to run them is typically more expensive. After years of working with brushless RC models, I always look for this type of motors

Question:	What’s the difference between this one and the 21 inch sold without the battery
Answer:	You can buy the mower only or “the package.” I guess that’s in case you drive your car over the mower but haven’t damaged the batteries, charger or bag you can just buy a new mower.
Question:	Are better wheels available? The ones on the mower are cheap plastic
Answer:	Don't know. My wheels have not been a problem for the 3 years I have owned the mower.
