Answer:	Assuming basic, alkaline batteries, performance depends very much on temperature. Below about 10 Celsius (50F) capacity begins to drop off. My experience is batteries will last about 5 weeks if the temperature stays above freezing. Sensor position matters too. My sensor is about 12 meters from the receiver, and the signal has to pass through 5 wood frame walls.

Answer:	It takes about 5 minutes or less if the temperature is close to the same. I have placed mine in the deep freezer and then the fridge to check the temperature of each. It takes about 15 minutes to be correct when putting it outside as the temperature is a lot different.

Answer:	According to the Amazon site specs/features listings for both, the primary difference is in the outdoor sensor -- the TP62 uses AAA alkaline batteries; the TP63A has rechargeable lithium battery. That, and for me, a 30% discount when I purchased the TP62. The indoor unit for both appear to be the same, in appearance and use. Hope that helps.

Answer:	The first part of your question is yes, it records the current temperature. The answer to the second part is no, it only gives the current temperature of the location it is placed; i.e., bedroom, den, bathroom, outside etc. It also gives the humidity.

Answer:	Just got mine and the humidity reads 7-10% low. I did the salt water calibration test twice and it never got over 65%. The hygrometer is useless.

Answer:	No, it does not. I find it to be quite accurate, though! I would imagine that you could just remove the battery and re-insert it to recalibrate. But manually, no calibration feature. Answer:	There were directions with my units. There is a switch on the home unit what says channel 1-3. Your sensor will be one of those. You have to put the outdoor unit near the home unit in order for them to pair initially. I will have to say that with my unit, the batteries that can’t with it did not last very long, but once I put in some good quality batteries, it has worked very well. I did have to re-pair when I put new batteries in, but it did so pretty quickly.

Question:	What is the metal box for? Can the box be made water proof
Answer:	I assume the metal box is simply to store any thermometers not in use, as well as the extra batteries (or in my case, as a cute little whatnot box). As far as water proofing the box, I don't know. It's got the clear plastic window in the box lid, so that would be a potential point of failure. Using clear packing tape over it might help, depending on how the box is used. And water might still seep in between the lid and the base. It's not needed for the thermometers themselves. The probes seem like they are water proof.
Question:	How long does it take to stabilize the temperature reading
Answer:	This depends on the severity of the change in ambient temperature. When the ambient temperature changes, there is a change in the temperature of the temperature detector itself, and when the temperature of the temperature detector is the same as the target ambient temperature, the thermometer reading will tend to stabilize.

Answer:	No

Answer:	The only part that could hold up during inclement weather is the end that measures the actual temp, the piece where you read the temp needs to be protected from moisture of all kinds this part is not weather proof. I would recommend that you place the temp sensor end of the unit outside a window and then weather proof the window with temp reading end inside and safe from the elements.
