Answer:	It is sold separately. It comes with 4 AA batteries which give you about 3 solid hours of recording time.

Answer:	No. The only inputs for mics are XLR or "1/4. The internal mics are comparable to USB mics in terms of sound quality however.

Answer:	You can record each input separately, one track at a time, the track 1 and 2 are monophonic and they can use any input (A or B), channel 3 and 4 are stereo, so, you can record two instruments at the same time on these channels (left - rigth) using inputs A and B.

Answer:	Hello, No it doesn't come with a charger as it's sold separately. The device can also be used with 2 AA batteries.
Question:	can this be hardwired into a sound system to record from the sound system
Answer:	Really depends on the sound system. It has XLR, 1/4 in., and 1/8 in. inputs. You can patch it into a mixing board or home stereo easy enough with one of those plugs. I typically go with an RCA to 1/8in. adapter from the source, and it sounds pretty good. If you're running an XLR out from a speaker, you may need to test your settings. Hope this helps.

Answer:	That's what it is for, but it requires a male to male cable, as it is only 4-6 inches long. The attenuation cable is touchy, so I bought another elsewhere.

Press and hold the code key for more than one second to enter the code. No need to connect to the phone or computer. When the indicator is blue (purple), output the SBUS signal. If you use the R8EF in a car or boat, you need to switch to the PWM signal. When the indicator is red, the PWM signal is output.

Answer:	I would not buy these. I ended up throwing mine away. The audio was horrible and kept breaking up from day 1.

Answer:	Don't know - this product supports the range 30Hz - 17kHz frequency response. If Sony IR transmits in this range, this receiver will pickup. Sony is notorious to use their own standards to build a monopoly and make money on accessories and a parallel market (just like Apple).

Question:	What's a good USB battery pack to pair with this
Answer:	The biggest change is in the headroom. These preamps and converters are cleaner and offer more gain than the 2nd gen. These pres also come equipped with the "Air" mode which adds some high end to model the ISA preamp circuit. The 3rd gen 18i20 also has 16 ADAT I/O channels as opposed to the 2nd gen's 8 channels of ADAT. Answer:	Hi, There have been several improvements made to the 3rd generation range of interfaces. Firstly, all of the inputs on the 18i20 3rd gen feature Air mode, emulating the classic sound of our original transformer-based ISA preamps. Secondly, the 18i20 3rd gen now has the ability to switch between Main and Alternative speakers connected to it using a front panel button. Thirdly, we have added a built-in Talkback function (allowing the engineer to talk directly to the performer), a Loopback function (allowing audio from one application to be recorded into another without connecting cables), Dual ADAT ports for recording 16 channels of audio into the DAW at 96kHz, optical S/PDIF and removable rack ears. Lastly, the specifications of the preamps and conversion have been improved even further - for example, the dynamic range has been increased to 111dB and the gain range is now 56dB instead of 50dB on the 2nd generation. Question:	Can an acoustic electric guitar be plugged directly into the 1/4" input for clean recording
Answer:	The answer is yes but depends on the pre amps of your guitars pickup. Some electric guitars have better and more pickups then acoustic/electric guitars so they will need less gain from the recording device. I would say it would be fine for acoustic/ electric guitar if you have decent pickups. I would recommend recording acoustic guitar with the provided stereo microphone that are exceptionally good as they are made for the the zooms built in preamps. these microphones are condensor so they will be very precise in picking up the natural ambience and accoustic characteristics of your guitar. Hope that helps.
Question:	Is phantom power available for the additional 2 channel XLR accessory
Answer:	It is not.
Question:	Will it create separate audio files from 2 shotgun mics and 2 lav mics so I can then create my own mix in Post? Does it all go into one file
Answer:	The 4 XLR inputs create individual mono files from the mics attached. The attached mics, 2 at 90 degrees as shown in picture, create a single stereo file. All 5 of these files can be mixed using an audio package. I did this using 4 mics and the 90 degree onboard to record my nephews band playing a gig. I remixed the audio using those files and then laid that over the video track of same song. worked beautifully.
