Then get a 3.5mm male to male wire and connect it to the computer/laptop's speaker out port. Then put the other end in the microphone input on your xbox splitter. I assume you know that you need a 3.5mm Y splitter for your xbox controller so that you have two female openings, one for mic one for headphones. The microphone is phantom 48v powered. When properly set up this mic is fantastic! I’ve bought mics for close to $200 and can’t tell you the difference in sound.

Answer:	I use it for Dragon dictation. The mic is great for that purpose, but it's sensitive to external sound sources so I'm not sure it would work with speakers your playing game audio. If you do try it, play around with volume settings to get it right as sometimes too high or low volume affects recognition of commands.

Question:	Is this good for recording songs
Answer:	For ~$15 I'd highly recommend picking one up; though the quality of your recording will have a lot to do with room setup, microphone location, computer noise - since this is a USB microphone, etc. But if you're looking to start recording vocals (probably not suited to instruments except maybe acoustic guitar / viola?)
