User questions & answers
Question: | Whats the difference between the Shubbs S1 and the Deluxe S1 capo ? Thanks, Mick |
Answer: | Shubb "S1" one size of the "Deluxe" model and is suitable for steel string guitars, including electric guitars, with necks of standard width. If you have an extra-wide neck or want to use it at a point on the neck that is more than 2" in width, the "S3" is recommended. It should be noted that both of these are made in the USA. The nickel-plated models are called Shubb "Standard" and the corresponding sizes are "C1n" and "C3n." The nickel-plated models, however, are made in China. I purchased a stainless steel Shubb "Deluxe," the "S3" model, and am very pleased with the quality. I answer this question because I myself wrote Shubb customer service with some similar questions and thought I'd share, since some of the other answers are misleading. |
Question: | Will this capo work for prs se custom |
Answer: | Not sure the neck width one the PRS... works well with my 74 Strat and acoustics. |
Question: | Is this capo for 6 string guitar |
Answer: | Yes, I believe so. Works on nut widths of 1 3/4" or less. For wider nut widths, 1 7/8" for example, use the "12 string" version. I have a few and they work great. |
Question: | Will this work on an electric guitar or is it only for acoustic |
Answer: | Hello from the distributor,If the guitar's neck has a flat fingerboard, this capo will generally work, but if your guitar's neck has a radius of 7.25 inches you will want this Shubb instead:https://www.amazon.com/Shubb-Deluxe-GC-30E-Radius-Electric/dp/B00TDMA0TW/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1487379132&sr=8-1&keywords=shubb+gc-30eTom MolyneauxSaga Musical Instruments |
Product description
"Model 1, ""For steel string guitar,"", fits almost all acoustic and electric steel string guitars. 2 inches wide, curved for a radiuses fretboard. Precisely machined of brass and carefully hand assembled, a Shubb capo is manufactured without compromise. Simply holding one in your hand conveys a sense of quality. Snapping it solidly onto a guitar neck, and then removing it, all within about one second, will confirm its reputation for excellence. What makes the Shubb capo so special? For one thing, its ingenious design: a patented locking action which provides an unrivalled combination of power, speed, accuracy and ease of use. One smooth flip of the lever locks it securely in place. and removes it just as quickly. And the Shubb capo doesn't create tuning problems. Its soft, resilient rubber is specially designed to work just like a fingertip, so it doesn't bend the strings over the frets. Its closing action is just like your hand, so it doesn't pull the string off center. As a result, no re-tuning is necessary!"

User questions & answers
Question: | will this fit a 12in or 10 inch radius fretboard |
Answer: | Absolutely, no problem. These are my favorite capos! |
Question: | can you use this on a brass stringed guitar |
Answer: | There shouldn't be any difference on what kind of string your playing, this capo works great for all guitars and string types! Thanks for the question! - Ace Music |
Question: | Is the c1b the same capo as the C1 and S1 just in brass |
Answer: | The short answer is yes and the Shubb's are the best capos for the money in my humble opinion. I bought my first Shubb in 1986 and then bought a second a couple years ago for a different guitar. I believe the C1B is for brass; the C1S is for stainless steel and the C1 is brass with nickel-plating. Mine are brass but I believe all three will work equally well and last indefinitely. Here's a much more in depth review of the C1 and C1S that you might find helpful: https://brokeandtalented.com/shubb-s1-vs-c1-comparison/ |
Question: | Will the capo work on a seagull artist mosaic acoustic? seagull guitars have a wider neck and a flatter radius on the fingerboard |
Answer: | Yes, I believe it should work. I can use it on all my guitars and a mandolin. The length of the rubber on the fret side is exactly 2 inches long. As far as total depth, that's a little difficult to say. I can tell you if I move it up past the 7th fret on my acoustic, I have the set screw backed out most of the way. I love mine, and it's in tune up and down...can't say that about the tigers |

- Brand: Shubb
- Manufacturer Part: C1K
- Stunning black chrome finish
- Roller design
- Steel string acoustic and electric guitars
User questions & answers
Question: | Is it actual solid brass or paint/plating |
Answer: | No the C1K not brass. It’s black chrome. They make a C1B that is solid brass (unplated). It’s same size and shape as C1K just made of brass. Hope this helps. |
Question: | Which schubb capo would work best for a recording king rph-05 parlor guitar |
Answer: | I think almost any general purpose capo would work. I have the Shubb C1K and it fits all my acoustic and electric guitars including my Recording King ROM 06 CFE4. |
Question: | Can I use this with a flat top fret guitar( opposite to a strats neck |
Answer: | If you mean flat (not round frets) the answer is yes. If you mean a flat fretboard (like a classical guitar) you should get a capo for a classical. You can make the normal work, but it will put your 1st and 6th strings out of tune. |
Question: | Can I use this capo on a trumpet |
Answer: | Sure. If you are gluing your mouthpiece, it might work like a c-clamp. Unfortunately, it’s not big enough to keep holding one of the valves down - what I’ve heard is the most common use of a capo on a trumpet. |

User questions & answers
Question: | Is this for a 6 string guitar |
Answer: | Yes. I have 2 of these. One I use with my 6 string acoustic. I use the other with my 6 string electric guitar. |
Question: | I've never used a capo before. Is it for an acoustic guitar? Is it hard to put on a guitar? Can it be clipped on the top of the guitar for storage |
Answer: | I like this capo because it is very low profile, can fit virtually any neck, and the tension is adjustable so it doesn't squeeze too hard, which can affect your tuning - particularly in the bass strings. This has been my go-to capo forever and it's built from solid metal. Only disadvantage is because it's not spring loaded it doesn't clip onto the headstock of the guitar for easy storage. I usually set it off to the side or on a music stand. I need to put a loop on my guitar strap or something to hold it. I'd say it's a great studio capo, not so great for performing if you take it on and off frequently. |
Question: | Does it really work |
Answer: | Mine works fantastically well both in practice and in performance. There may be a better one out there, but I really like this one for my needs. |
Question: | how well wil this last fo acustic 6 string fender |
Answer: | I have had no trouble with this capo at all! Used for over a year on a 6 and 12 string Martin!! Still works like new!! |
Question: | Would a 25 watt rms per channel tube amp work with these |
Answer: | I purchased the 580’s, but I would think they would work, |
Question: | What is a good amplifier for these JBL 580?? i have heard that yamaha and marantz are both good and how many watts are recommended |
Answer: | I drove the 570s with avr3700. Sounded great however I don't recommend Harmon kardon amps. Buggy and their UI is horrible. Like almost unusable. Trying to do a source change is impossible without a flashlight. That's how bad it is. |
Question: | Can anybody that purchased these speakers recommend/tell me what cables to buy and whether they need banana plugs or clamp down exposed cables |
Answer: | I use dual banana plugs with these - easy connection. (Like these: https://www.radioshack.com/products/gp-dual-banana?variant=5717654085). As far as cable, I've been using this: https://www.radioshack.com/collections/maker-parts-kits/products/16-gauge-speaker-wire-1?variant=5717683781 |
Question: | Can I use Yamaha RX-V673 for this speaker? Would this be too cheap for this speaker |
Answer: | Thing to note on these speakers is that they run at 6 Ohms. It will drive your receiver harder but will also simultaneously give you more power. Looking at the Spec's of the RX-V673 the dynamic power at 6 Ohms is 170W per channel. This should be able to drive it OK. These speakers do benefit from a capable and powerful amplifier. In my application I have powered them from both a receiver and dedicated 250W per channel amplifier. If you are thinking of getting these I would suggest sticking with the receiver you suggested since it is capable of driving the 6 Ohm speaker. If it feels like they are under-powered you can get a separate 2CH amp and run the receiver pre-outs to it or simply get a more powerful receiver but I think you will find the receiver will drive them just fine. |

User questions & answers
Question: | I see you have uke capos but i like the design of this and the color. Will this capo work with tenoor uke |
Answer: | Not sure as I do not own a uke. On my 5 string banjo it is just right for the four capoed strings, which means it is quite narrow. It would fit my mandolin but would be too narrow for my guitar. |
Question: | How do I know what size to order |
Answer: | For banjo order the banjo capo. For Guitar order guitar capo. They will fit any banjo or guitar. |

User questions & answers
Question: | Bottom isn’t locking in place, did I get a defective guitar holder? There’s no instructions for assembly |
Answer: | The piece holding the bottom of the guitar can rotate, but it is not a problem as the “u” bracket at the neck of the guitar keeps it in place. |
Question: | Why can't it hold a jazz bass? are you referring to acoustic jazz bass? it looks like it could hold an electric jazz bass |
Answer: | holds an electric jazz bass no problems. |
Question: | The top portion of the stand won’t go through because of small metal in the bottom portion of the stand. Is this normal |
Answer: | Press the silver button |
Question: | Is this stand collapsible/easy to travel with |
Answer: | Very easy ..folds up small .works well I have 7 of them they all work perfect ..great low price |

Question: | What are the actual dimensions of this product |
Answer: | Assembled, it's approx 34.5" x 21" x 28" (w/d/h). Depending on size/shape of head stock of guitar(s), you'll want to place it an inch or two away from the wall. |
Question: | Can the pegs be removed or adjusted to hold complete guitar cases |
Answer: | My advice to you is to completely avoid the stand at all costs. I know you think you’re trying to save money, but the joints are poorly welded and it fell apart after about three days. Save your money. |

User questions & answers
Question: | can this hold a full size acoustic bass |
Answer: | Graig, not sure I would recommend for the Jag body shape. I use mine with a Les Paul, a Gibson 335, Fender Tele all fine but when I place the Strat on it I get pretty nervous. If you don't get the Strat "just right" it seems a bit unstable. Overall the stand is OK (I got it mainly because it folds nicely into on of my gear cases) but I prefer my other stands which supports neck, YMMV. Just my POV, hope it is helpful. |
Question: | How much weight can this stand handle |
Answer: | I have a Ukulele and it will not fit in it. I don't think the mandolins were fit. The items would have to be as tall as a guitar. I hope that helped. |
Question: | Would a ukulele fit for this stand |
Answer: | There are some foam pieces in the bottom of the stand than can be adjusted to seat the guitars at an angle, but I have mine set up so that they basically sit straight (very slight angle). |
Question: | Could this stand be used for as banjo |
Answer: | Yes...the bottom of the case has adjustable cushions/spacers to fit any size guitar. I move them around depending on if I'm using electrics or acoustics. :-) |

User questions & answers
Question: | Hi - Any noticeable paint smell on the metal or chemical smell to the plastic/rubber parts |
Answer: | I didn't notice any smell. I didn't put my nose inches away, but if it smelled I would have noticed. |
Question: | How far apart are the two arms of the lower support? I have a unique instrument that requires are certain minimum width there. Thanks |
Answer: | A problem I had is that the lower support is either flat or will sometimes fold inward when I picked the guitar up. I only use that stand when I have several of my guitars out or have friends over. When I perform I put my guitar in its case between sets. I recommend the One Stage’ stand. |
Question: | I have a heave 6string bass guitar. Think it wont topple over in this |
Answer: | I am sure it would be safe. I don't have a bass, but all my electric and acoustics are very stable in it. |
Question: | If it is pushed up against the wall, how deep is the foot print? also, the dimension of the upright from the wall as well |
Answer: | I think you will need to look for another product; the orientation of the stand is such that the guitar, facing outward, makes the 3 leg base have a leg facing perpendicular to wall. In that orientation it is 22 inches deep for all three legs of the triangular base. |
