| Answer: | I purchased these a year ago. At the time, all of the ones I used light brightly and most (if not all) lasted quite some time. Some colors were still dimly lit after 24 hours. It's been a year and I rediscovered my container of these after cleaning out the garage. I was very surprised to find that around half of them simply to not light at all. Not a hint of glow even in a dark room. Of the other half, most of them light brightly and last up to 24 hours, the remaining 10% or so are somewhat dimmer than previously. As far as I can tell, it doesn't seem specific to any particular colors. Perhaps there is a very slow leak or something in some of the tubs that results in a dud after a year or so? I didn't test mid way through the year, so I can't speak for exactly how long it took for some of these to stop working. |

| Answer: | The reason why everyone keeps asking if they're individually wrapped or not is because some glow sticks have a shelf life when unwrapped. sometimes people want them, if they are not going to use them right away, to be individually wrapped because it's almost as if when unwrapped some of them while being exposed to oxygen seem to not work after a while. It says for this product that they have 2 years shelf life and that the capsule on the inside and that contains the glow juice is made of glass. I know this because I used to stockpile individually wrapped glow sticks for taking to dance parties and sometimes I would unwrap them and not use them that night and a few weeks later it would seem that when bending them to break the capsule on the inside that nothing would happen as if because it was exposed to oxygen the capsule on the inside had deteriorated for whatever reason. Though it seems not to make any sense I have experienced this several times and it may not be the case with this product but I am going to give it a try because I need to stockpile some for an emergency kit so hopefully their 2-year shelf life claim is real. |

The smaller "standard" sticks are only 10mm thick and are rounded at both ends. Then, they will start to fade out but may continue to emit some light for up to 36 hours. These Lumistick brand glow light sticks are fresh from the factory. They come directly from the factory and were manufactured just a few weeks ago. We are constantly getting new shipments from the factory, so you know these are as fresh and new as they come. They have a shelf life of 2 years. Inside the glow light sticks are two chemicals that emit light or glow when they are mixed together. Inside the glow light sticks is a thin glass tube, when you bend it for the first time, you break the inner glass tube. This mixes the two chemicals together. Just shake it up and presto -- it starts glowing like magic! Lumistick brand glow light stick glow-in-the-dark products are non-toxic. They are not radioactive and they are not flammable.
