14 best vox loop pedals

Vox is a well-known brand in the world of musical instruments and equipment, and they offer a range of loop pedals that are popular among guitarists and other musicians. These loop pedals, also known as "loopers," are used to create layered soundscapes by recording and looping musical phrases in real-time. Here's what you need to know about Vox loop pedals:

  1. Looping Functionality: Vox loop pedals allow musicians to record a musical passage (usually played on an electric guitar) and then play it back in a loop. This recorded loop can serve as a backing track for further improvisation or layering additional musical elements.

  2. Easy-to-Use Controls: Vox loop pedals are designed with user-friendly controls, typically including options for recording, overdubbing, playback, and stopping loops. The simplicity of these controls makes it easy for musicians to create and manipulate loops on the fly.

  3. Built-In Effects: Some Vox loop pedals come equipped with built-in effects such as delay, reverb, and modulation. These effects can be applied to the recorded loops or to the live signal, allowing for creative sound shaping.

  4. Compact Design: Vox loop pedals are known for their compact and pedalboard-friendly designs. They are often built to be rugged and roadworthy, making them suitable for gigging musicians.

  5. Loop Length and Storage: The loop length and storage capacity may vary among different Vox loop pedal models. Some pedals offer longer recording times, while others may have limited storage for shorter loops.

  6. Footswitches: Vox loop pedals typically feature footswitches for easy operation during live performances. These footswitches allow you to start and stop recording, overdubbing, and playback with your foot, leaving your hands free to play your instrument.

  7. Power Options: Vox loop pedals can be powered by batteries or with an external power supply, providing flexibility for various performance situations.

  8. Compatibility: These loop pedals are generally designed to work well with electric guitars, but they can also be used with other instruments and microphones, expanding their versatility.

Vox loop pedals are favored by many musicians for their simplicity, reliability, and the ability to quickly create and layer musical ideas. Whether you're a solo performer looking to build complex arrangements or a guitarist looking for a tool to enhance your live sound, Vox loop pedals can be a valuable addition to your musical setup.

User questions & answers

Question: Can you pause/unpause this
Answer: You can do either. Set the pitch correction to a specific key or just let it adjust automatically. I have found the auto feature works the best.
Question: Does it come with the power supply
Answer: According to the manual, 80 secs. I haven't used the looper for more than 20 secs yet.
Question: Could I use the pedals built in without looping
Answer: The VE-8 comes with an AC power supply, but that is only for the secondary to the back of the unit. You would need to get an AC converter or step-up transformer, from 120VAC to 220VAC, on the primary, for operation outside the U.S.
Question: Can you loop your voice and guitar at the same time
Answer: W Ng - I set up the Boss VE-8 differently than most, and it isn't hands free, but it is very effective. I have been using the unit live at gigs for over a year now. I cannot afford the time between songs to navigate the pedal on the ground with the different vocal and guitar effects I use (harmonies, vocal reverb, some guitar effects, etc). So I have the pedal sitting on a stand in front of me waist high (I stand). This allows me to make simple adjustments between songs by hand. I also have the Boss FS-7 foot switch set up ($60.00 on Amazon). This sits on the ground, and I am able to turn harmonies on and off during a song while continuing to play. Would also work switching on or off a guitar effect, the looper, etc. This system works very well live, and I waste very little time between songs with adjustments. i absolutely love this unit by the way.

User questions & answers

Question: does it have amp modeling as well
Answer: Yes is has a few, but I wouldn’t call them great. But it all depends on what you like... I’m a dinasaur, so I lean towards old rock and some blues...Your amp and guitar really determine what you will get out of this, and it has cabinet simulation too
Question: Will this unit work in a pedal board,i mean, can i mute the sound with the buttons?? true by pass, i mean! thanks
Answer: Absolutely not, it has an on off switch. Once turned on there’s no way to bypass it. If you wanted to use with a pedal board( why would you?) you would need an AB switch to go back and forth. This isn’t like an individual pedal, this is modeling pedal., and a very good too.You set up all you patches the way you want them... first.. Easy to edit
Question: does it have amp modeling as well
Answer: It has amp models, each has some adjustable parameters. They are generic models. If your looking to find an exact sound , you might just buy an amp modeling pedal . I usually turn the amp models off and run into my amp, using the effects in the box. Once you get used to the edit process changing sounds are easy to do...
Question: Is it battery operated
Answer: Yes, i recomend buying the power cord.

User questions & answers

Question: Hello! Does this pedal have looper included
Answer: I'll save you the search by just telling you what i found out. Output 2 is for a second amp, while output 1 is only for one. In other words, if you are using only one amplifier or head, you would use output 1. On the other hand, if you are using two amps...which in your case is the micro dark and Marshall lead 15, then you would use output 2 as well as output 1. The manual said that two amps are recommended if you want to get the full potential of the guitar pedal. The input connects to your guitar or your effect loops which leads to your guitar.
Question: Is the output safe as an efx return? Since its also a headphone jack it wouldnt be a line level signal
Answer: 6.5 by 8.5 by 2 at 1.52 lbs. Kinda like a readable size bible Koran or other holy book...should easily fit in your carry-on
Question: Hello
Answer: It acts as a noise gate, a volume pedal, and a wah-wah. It may do more but I have not touched mine in years.
Question: can you plug other stop boxes through it
Answer: i returned mine...way too digital and harsh sounding for my tastes.as far as using this as an an expression pedal, there are several on the market that are cheaper and better suited to use as an expression pedal. I believe Boss makes a very good one if memory serves me... good luck!

  • 1 x 8” speaker, 25 Watts
  • Parallel speaker jacks

User questions & answers

Question: I bought the mv50 clean amp head to go with this speaker...I would like reverb...any suggestions for add on
Answer: There are a wide variety of outboard units. However instead of investing the money in a dedicated reverb unit you might want to get a multi effect processor which has reverb as one of its effects. The Zoom GXion is an excellent multi effect and the reverb section is quite good and totally customizable. It also has a programmable expression pedal. I've been playing for 50 years and it is my main fx processor. I'm not sure of the current price but it is less than $100
Question: can i use this with a non vox mini amp head
Answer: Yes with any amp head
Question: I bought the cabinetand tried playing, do i need the head as well
Answer: Yes. The amp head powers the speaker cabinet. These cabinets are specially constructed to be paired with the VOX MV50 line of amp heads. However, a different amp head may work. Be sure to check the manual for the other amp head if they are not VOX MV50 and the manual for the Vox speaker cabinet to be sure it’s safe to use a different head.
Question: What if i set the amp head to 4ohms??? It actually sounds best there
Answer: at 4 ohms 1 of those cabs isn’t enough you are putting strain on the head and can burn it or the cab up you shoykd run it on 8 by itself 4 if you have 2 cabs

Question: What would be a great speaker to plug this in
Answer: Almost any. I've used the MV 50 to power cabs from a single 8 inch to a 4/12 but my favorite is a 12 inch closed-back Fender Champ cab. Trust me, whatever you have the MV 50 will bring out the best in it.
Question: Will this power a cabinet
Answer: Yes it does. Some reviews on youtube show it.
Question: What happens if you use it with a vox pathfinder 15w (early 00s, Korean) as the speaker? Would it improve the sound
Answer: As long as it is 4 to 16 ohms, it should work. The lower the ohms, the louder. As to "improving" the sound, that is subjective.

Now in 2015, VOX is proud to reintroduce the AC10C1 and provide players with an easy way to enjoy the legendary VOX top boost sound. Equipped with reverb and a master volume, the AC10C1 is the perfect companion for the home, studio or stage.

User questions & answers

Question: Is this vox ac10c1 the one with the celestion greenback speaker
Answer: This amp comes with a celestion speaker. sweetwater sells one with the greenback. I found the stock speaker to sound very good.
Question: Is this a good option for playing around the house at lower volumes
Answer: Yes, it's an excellent option. At 10 watts you can get some good gain without killing your ears or angering your neighbors. AND, you can gig with it at smaller venues as I've done with a 5-piece band. If you need to go louder you can mic this amp and run it through the PA and monitors. But for jamming in your house it's excellent.
Question: When i plug in a headset in the back of the vox acl0c1 using the larger adapter jack there is only sound coming through left ear. why is this happening
Answer: that is internal jack to connect to another set of speakers no to be used on headphones , besides is it mono conection not stereo one you not going to hear in both side
Question: Does the ac10c1 have an effects loop? the description says it does but i can't identify its location on the included pictures turns
Answer: There is no effects loop.

Vox

Based on 59 reviews Check latest price

Product description

First introduced in 1958, the AC15 combo has been the amp of choice for countless guitar players throughout the world. Drawing on more than 50 years of amp-building expertise, the AC15C1 Custom Series offers maximum tonal dexterity. VOX Custom Series amps offer two channels: Normal and Top-Boost. Each channel is equipped with its own Volume control, and the Top Boost channel offers highly interactive Treble and Bass tone controls. This powerful channel pairing provides an abundance of tone-crafting control, letting you dial in a classic sound that is all your own. Both channels rely on the Tone Cut and Volume controls in the Master section. The Tone Cut control operates in the power stage rather than the preamp stage, allowing an additional degree of tone-shaping. The Master Volume control works in conjunction with the individual volumes of each channel to create just the right degree of gain-staging. By balancing the individual and Master volumes, the Custom Series can deliver everything from a clean VOX "chimey" sound to a powerful overdriven tone. You can sweeten the sound of your Custom Series amplifier using the VOX Classic Tremolo effect. Both the speed and the depth are adjustable, allowing you to generate just the sound you want. A warm Spring Reverb is also included on all Custom Series amps, adding spaciousness to the sound. All Custom Series amps can use the VOX VFS2 footswitch, allowing you to turn the Reverb and Tremolo effects on and off as you continue to play. The AC15C1 combo makes use of 3 x 12AX7 preamp tubes and uses pair of EL84 tubes to drive a single 12" Celestion G12M Greenback. All models in the Custom Series offer a switchable 8/16 ohm output jack for powering an external speaker cabinet when you need to speak with a little more authority; using this jack will mute the internal speakers. Additionally, a 2nd extension speaker jack allows you to run an extra 16 ohm cabinet along with the internal speakers for a fuller sound.

User questions & answers

Question: Can you get that 60's mrb effect on this amp
Answer: Really.... not really. MRB was very specific and only came on Thomas Organ Sepulveda-made Vox amps of the 60's. This is a good amp for the money, but I had to do a lot of tweaking on mine to get where I wanted to go (and I still may not be 100% yet!)
Question: This listing says 2 amps for$700. Can that be right
Answer: It cannot be right. Sometimes these sellers are ESL. The 2 likely refers to the fact that there are two inputs on a Vox AC15; a normal channel and top boost channel input. Maybe the seller thinks this is for playing two guitars at the same time or something? In any case, if you see a deal like this on a Vox tube amp you either got supremely lucky or it’s a mistake.
Question: can you use both channels at the same time
Answer: Yes. I've used the two outputs on my Line 6 HD500 into the two inputs. You get a bassier sound than just the top boost channel.
Question: If I use an A/B switch, does it switch before the individual channel volumen pots (can I get 2 volumes using an A/B switch, like a clean boost
Answer: This amp is not a channel-switching amp and does not accept an A/B footswitch for channel switching; however, you can get an ABY switch, which you will put BEFORE the inputs. What it will do is take the output from your guitar and split it 2 ways. The pedal switch will select which one of the two ways the output will go. Connect one of them to the "normal" input of the amp and the other to the "top boost" channel. Both channels of the amp are always on, but what comes out of the speaker depends on which input you're using. So, your guitar goes to the ABY switch, then depending on which of the Y outputs you've selected, continues to whichever amp input it's connected to. This is effect will give you channel switching. But bear in mind that both amplifier channel inputs are always on.

The Master Volume control works in conjunction with the individual volumes of each channel to create just the right degree of gain-staging. By balancing the individual and Master volumes, the Custom Series can deliver the coveted clean VOX "chimey" sound or a powerful overdriven tone - and everything in between.

User questions & answers

Question: Was this made in China
Answer: Yes, but the build quality is very nice.
Question: Can you split the signal between the two speakers for a stereo effect
Answer: There's only one speaker. You would need two amps to play in stereo.
Question: Is this loud enough to play with a band
Answer: It depends on the details of the band, but I would typically say most 15W tube amps get loud enough to play with a band. I have the Handwired version of this amp and run it in an isocab because of how loud I like to run it. Hope that helps!
Question: Does the ac15c2 has an effects loop? i'm asking because the descriptions says it does
Answer: No it doesn't. The AC230 does. I wish I had thought of that b4 I got the ac215.

Vox V847-C Wah Pedal

Vox

Product description

Based on the specs of the original VOX wah from the 1960s, the V847 has faithfully transmitted the legendary sound to the present day. Through careful experimentation, the traditional VOX wah has evolved into the V847-C wah pedal, with a tone that enhances today’s rock music. It delivers a wah sound with great presence that will stand out when playing anything from chords to solos. While carrying on the tradition of VOX wah pedals, the V847-C wah pedal’s numerous customizations make it the perfect modern VOX wah. Delivers a powerful sound with an improved frequency sweep The frequency range of the wah (frequencies in which the wah can be varied) has been set lower, with the gain boosted and the Q-value (the sharpness of the wah's peak) adjusted to deliver a powerful sound with a low center of gravity. Warmer tone The input impedance has been adjusted to make the sound not merely more powerful but also tastefully warm. True bypass The true bypass design means that the signal does not pass through the circuit when the unit is switched off, ensuring that its tonal character is unaffected. Improved rubber feet for a better feel when switching on/off The V847-C uses a softer material than the rubber feet on previous models. You’ll be able to turn the wah effect on/off more smoothly while you play your guitar. Made In Japan model A true "Made In Japan" product manufactured in Japan. Question: Is this made in the USA
Answer: Not that big. It may vary depending on how they folded it, but it certainly won't get that small ever again! It was a while since I got it, but I believe it was less than 2'x1'x1' if I recall correctly. Great item, and my kids love it! Durable and hasn't gotten any mold or mildew either.
