Answer:	it all has to do with the shape of your toilet's tank. if it's square and the handle is on the side, then you have a straight arm. if the tank is angled and the handle is on that angle then you need a handle that has an arm with the appropriate angle. the best way to make sure you get the right unit is to find out which company manufactured your toilet and search for that.

Answer:	I remember the black rubber piece, but I don't remember if I used it or not. I think that the only use of this piece would be as a bushing for some toilet levers openings. But if the lever does not have a play and works fine, great. Just don't discard it, it may come in handy later on. By the way, my new lever works great. I just have to get used to the handle pointing to the back instead of to the front of the tank bowl.

Answer:	There is a removable outer fitting on the square part that goes into the slot in the ceramic tank. So this serve two different sizes. However, even with the outer fitting removed, it is still too large to fit many Toto toilets (Vespin toilet tanks and similar tank models). Those Toto models require a roughly 5/8" fitting (Toto flush handle THU068). My suggestion is to measure your old part; if it is about 5/8", then I do not recommend this replacement, unless you want to be filing it down yourself in order to fit.

Answer:	The lever has a plastic nut (not show in pic) which unscrews off the backside of the handle. Slide the nut all the way down the gold shaft to remove it then feed the handle thru the toilet tank hole then reinstall the nut.

Answer:	Yes. Tube had hardened after 8 years of use. When replaced tubing, I found the 1059289 Canister Flush Valve Stop Kit (the plastic piece to which the tubing attaches) had cracked, no longer able to twist lock. I will either replace it (original black plastic piece is discontinued - 'appears' to be replaced by flush-valve-repair-kit-1229656 with larger yellow plastic piece) or drill a hole and insert a pin to hold it in place. The teflon tape idea or some 'reversibly' applied rubber cement, might be needed to hold tubing in the valve stop item.
