Cleaning & Hat Care

Clean your Outback hat often by brushing counter-clockwise, the crown facing you, with a soft brush or damp sponge. Be sure that any surface dirt is dry before brushing. If your hat gets wet, place it on its crown and let it dry naturally and slowly. Artificial heat or direct sunlight may shrink your hat.

Sweatbands

Outback Trading sweatbands transfer moisture away from the skin to the quickdrying reverse side of the fabric. This allows your head to stay cooler in warm weather, and warmer and drier in the cold.

Measuring For Size

To measure, start with a soft tape measure at the center of the forehead just above the eyebrows and the ears. Continue around the head returning to the center. In-between sizes should opt for a larger size. It should feel snug enough not to be easily blown or knocked off. It should not be painfully tight. Most hats are unisex and men’s and women’s hat sizes are the same.

Chin Cords

There are two types of chin cords to keep hats in place during windy conditions or when riding fast. One type goes just under the chin with an adjustable slide. Some of our Outback hats feature two-part wind straps that secures under the chin and behind the head.

Answer:	Haven't worn it in rain but the oiled fabric sure looks waterproof..

Answer:	Some of these size charts have been messed up by the addition of 2s in the wrong place, because the US size has been put in the wrong place and replaced with S, M, L, etc. US sizes are written as 7 1/8 or 7 5/8, not S, M, L. To correct this mistake the last line of the size charts reads XL XL 24 - 27 5/8, which should be replaced with XL 7 5/8 24. I know this is accurate my head measures 24 inches, I wear 7 5/8 US size hats, and the XL Outback Kodiak I bought last November fits me perfectly.

Answer:	I recieved four packs, three from 1990 and one from 1991, sorry, I cannot remember the brands. I did get a Brett Farve rookie card from one of the packs though that two years ago was worth $35 on EBay so definitely worth the money.
