Answer:	I would think brushing used with the additive would be the most effective

Answer:	I put 2 capfuls in my stainless steel, 1.5 gallon, charcoal filtered, water fountain just after cleaning and the additive foamed up like soap. My cat won’t touch it. She has 6 other standing water containers around our home and I put additive in half of them. She won’t touch the ones with the additive. She’s 6 years old and very active and smart.
