Answer:	Love this towel. I am embroidering on it. It is not 2" thick. I think it probably meant it was 0.2" thick. It wrinkles when washed and needs ironing.

Answer:	Hi! I didn't have a chemical odor with this mat. That being said, why don't you try soaking it in a tub that has a few inches of warm water that has had baking soda mixed in it. That should remove the smell.

Answer:	They are made in India and are 100% cotton. The top side has a smoother side that I use with machine embroidery; the back side is the typical "terry" texture. These towels launder nicely and my embroidery work continues to look great. I highly recommend them. I use them to embroider gifts for friends and family. I do not care for the "Sticky Toffee" name; but I love the towels. I always have some on hand for quick embroidered gifts.
