No. The products are sterilized with high-pressure and high-temperature steam and then immediately sealed for maximum freshness. The container and plastic film covering are designed to prevent air from entering so that the products can be stored safely at room temperature.

Is It Safe to Microwave?

Yes! The container and plastic film covering are made with BPA-free plastic so you can be assured that it is safe. You can either heat it in the microwave or in boiling water and it is still completely safe.

How Do I Store HetBahn?

Hetbahn can be stored in your pantry at room temperature. There is no need to refrigerate or freeze it. We recommend to keep it in a cool area, away from sunlight. If there is a tear in the top plastic film covering, the product may be contaminated. Please discard if this occurs. Once opened and heated, store leftover rice in an air-tight container (the quality and texture of the rice may change once reheated outside of our container). It is recommended to consume the product within 24 hours of opening and heating.

There are drops of water under the plastic film. Is it still safe to eat?

Hetbahn is vacuum sealed right after cooking, so there can be some condensation that forms on the film. Don’t fret – it’s completely normal and completely safe to eat.

Answer:	Maker's suggested cooking method is to microwave for 2 minutes or boil it for 10 minutes. If situation does not allow, there are many experiences that has been shared online: 1.cooking it in a pot of boiling water without opening the lid, 2. putting the cooked rice in a bucket, or any container that would fit the cooked rice, with boiling water poured in the bucket or container and leave it in. For this method, cooked rice should be left in the bucket or container longer than boiling method, since the temperature drops without continuous heat supply. There are other methods but the mentioned two methods are the simplest. MAKE SURE TO NOT OPEN THE LID/COVER WHEN COOKING IT WITH HOT WATER METHODS.

Annie Chun was born and raised in Seoul, Korea, and came to Northern California as a young adult, where her family owned and operated a top-rated Korean restaurant in San Francisco.

Answer:	They are dry (actually- moist, but do not require refrigeration). The are ready to eat after 1 minute in a microwave, and taste far better than a similar product by "Minute Rice".

Answer:	Technically the rice is already cooked and ready to eat. All the microwave does is warm it up via a steaming process. I have eaten it at room temperature before and it was alright - not great, just alright.

Answer:	you can buy this for $1.50 at Market Basket individually. I was going to order online, but rather take the ride to MB and pay the lesser price for 6 pack at $4.50.

Answer:	Yes, I think you could, but you might want to experiment with adding other ingredients before heating the little tray or afterward. After "cooking" this rice (making a tiny opening at the edge, heating on high 60 seconds) the rice becomes very sticky and steamy. You could put the hot rice in a different bowl and mix mango and coconut in while it's hot and you might need to heat that for another 30 seconds or so but no more than that. This rice does tend to become overly dense if heated too long. It is not good for "fluffy rice" applications and won't separate into individual rice grains very well, but in any sticky rice recipes it should work fine. Don't forget to taste for salt/shoyu for your recipe. This rice is unseasoned- very bland and neutral. Hope that helps

Answer:	Each box is about 4 servings, but you may not know (I didn't) that the seaweed noodle variety comes with no soup base, just noodles. The other flavors I've purchased came with a spice packet.

Answer:	Listing visible via website panel. Also listed as “vegan” precludes dairy. I am pretty strict but havent seen anything to scare me off. That said FDA is slack in its regulatory duties so who really knows??

Answer:	The label says 1 gram of fiber so you are right for doubting.
Question:	I don't have a microwave. Is there a stovetop heating option
Answer:	I have always made mine this way, and it comes out perfect every time. Put some water in a sauce pan on high and bring it just to a boil. While the water is heating up, empty the soup contents into the plastic bowl. Take the water off as soon as it starts to boil, and pour water into the soup bowl up to the molded in fill line. Give everything a quick swish with spoon and sit the lid on top loosely for a few minutes letting the soup ingredients to combine and cool.

Answer:	520 mg. I have to watch my sodium intake and get this item because it is reasonably low. (I try to stick to about 500 mg per meal.)
