14 best co2 regulator for beer
A CO2 regulator for beer is an essential component in the process of kegging and dispensing beer. It plays a crucial role in maintaining the proper level of carbonation in the beer and controlling the pressure inside the keg.
Here are some key points about a CO2 regulator for beer:
Purpose: The primary purpose of a CO2 regulator is to control the flow and pressure of carbon dioxide (CO2) from the gas tank to the keg.
Pressure Control: The regulator allows you to adjust the pressure at which CO2 is released into the keg. This is crucial for maintaining the desired level of carbonation in the beer.
Pressure Gauges: It typically features one or more pressure gauges that display the pressure both in the gas tank and the output pressure to the keg. This allows you to monitor and adjust the pressure as needed.
Adjustment Knobs: There are adjustment knobs that allow you to increase or decrease the pressure. This is important for fine-tuning the carbonation level and preventing over-pressurization, which can lead to foamy beer.
Safety Features: Many regulators have built-in safety features, such as pressure relief valves, to prevent excessive pressure buildup.
Compatibility: It's important to ensure that the CO2 regulator is compatible with the type of CO2 tank you have (e.g., a standard CO2 tank or a paintball-style tank).
Installation: Installing a CO2 regulator involves connecting it to the CO2 tank and then attaching it to the gas inlet on the keg. It's crucial to follow the manufacturer's instructions for proper installation.
Use in Home Brewing: Homebrewers use CO2 regulators to carbonate and dispense their beer from kegs. It provides a controlled and consistent method for carbonating beer.
Maintaining Carbonation: The regulator helps to maintain the desired level of carbonation over time. As beer is dispensed, the CO2 pressure is replenished to keep the beer carbonated.
Types of Regulators: There are single-gauge and dual-gauge regulators. Single-gauge regulators display only the output pressure, while dual-gauge regulators display both the tank pressure and output pressure.
Materials and Durability: CO2 regulators are typically made of brass or stainless steel for durability and corrosion resistance.
Leak Prevention: Properly functioning regulators prevent leaks by maintaining a constant pressure. Regular checks for leaks and proper maintenance are important.
Remember that it's important to handle and store CO2 tanks and regulators safely. Always follow manufacturer guidelines and local regulations when dealing with pressurized gas systems.

User questions & answers
Question: | Does this secondary regulator include mounting brackets? Not shown in the photo. Thanks |
Answer: | Hello, This has mounting brackets. Thank you, Beverage Factory |
Question: | I can't seem to adjust pressure in either gauge. Both read the same as input pressure regardless of where the valve is turned. Is this item defective |
Answer: | The valves must be stuck, it happened to me with one of the valves. I solved the issue screwing and unscrewing the regulator and manually releasing the pressure. I’ve been using mine for over two years and works fine. |
Question: | What diameter are the incoming and outgoing barbs |
Answer: | Thank you for your question. The barbs fit a 5/16" ID tubing. |
Question: | Hi,i need to install 6 regulators together, can i buy 4+2 and join them or do i need any additional nut? or it's better to connect them in parallel?thz |
Answer: | Hello Agustin,If you buy 4 + 2 you would need additional hardware to connect the two, an easier way would be to buy 4 + 3 which would allow you to run the second set with gas line off one of the 4. This is easier to do but will cost a little more. AnthonyThe Beverage Factory |

User questions & answers
Question: | Does it come pre assembled |
Answer: | This is for any size aquarium. You adjust the flow of CO2 (usually counted in "bubbles per second") based on the volume of water and plant density. You do have to buy the correct sized diffuser to support your tank. |
Question: | Hi,Now have tank, regulator, gasline assembly w/ball lock and a carbonator but don't know what to do now. How do I hook into the sodastream w/this |
Answer: | Seems to be steel (soft metal) the wrench that comes with this does scratch/tear metal collar that’s screws onto the bottle |
Question: | Does this come with a 1/4" or a 5/16" barb? Thanks |
Answer: | Make sure the valve on the tank is open. If none of the gauges are moving there is no pressure getting to the valves. An empty co2 cylinder could also be the cause. |
Question: | Is this Made in USA |
Answer: | Hello David,Yes, this will work with a standard C02 tank and that is the most common tank that mixed/beer gas comes in. This is an excellent choice for a primary, if you plan to run secondary regulators because of the high pressure ability. AnthonyThe Beverage Factory |

User questions & answers
Question: | How do i connect to a corny keg? The adapter is a different size |
Answer: | I think this one is for a keg with standard keg fitting they make a different one to pressurize a corny keg |
Question: | I have a 5lbs co2 tank hooked to a distributor, can I use an adaptor to hook this to my distributor to regulate a lower pressure to another keg |
Answer: | I purchased this with the hose. All I do is make sure the beer is good and carbonated and I add about 5 psi to the keg every now and then to get a good flow. There is really no need to keep this connected to the keg. As long as the adapter your talking about fits the regulator then I dont see why it wouldnt work. |
Question: | What is the male end of the included brass connector? I would like to connect this to a gas line instead of a keg |
Answer: | I purchased this regulator with the gas line included. You should be able to find that same combo on Amazon. |
Question: | Do these take threaded or un-threaded cartridges |
Answer: | threaded cartridges are required |

User questions & answers
Question: | What is the warranty on this product |
Answer: | This product comes with a 1-year manufacture's warranty. Thank you, Beverage Factory Customer Service |
Question: | what size is the out put threads on the Y adapter |
Answer: | 1/2 inch NPT |
Question: | Does this regulator have built in check valves |
Answer: | Save your money. I bought this regulator and returned it within a few weeks. Within the time that I had it, I wasted a full keg of cider because it dumped too much CO2 into my keg and had to refill my co2 tank twice due to leaks. Also, the nob to adjust the CO2 pressure, is VERY difficult to adjust. Luckily for me, Kegco replaced it with a better one and only charged me the difference. BUT do yourself a favor, and spend a little more to get a good regulator. The time you spend, not to mention the beer you will save, are well worth it! |
Question: | Do you sell replacement for Watch |
Answer: | Hello, If you are referring to the gauges on the regulator, yes. We do sell replacement gauges. Best Wishes, Arielle Beverage Factory (800) 710-9939 |
