Answer:	I don't believe it is recommended for this as you could burn your hand or damage the plastic. I think warm water would be ok but not hot water.

Answer:	Plastic body. Easy to clean because it all comes apart. I put it in the dishwasher on the top rack. I'm not happy with the price I paid for the product but the more I use it the happier I become
