You have peaceful rain lulling you to sleep & then the rumble of thunder which interrupts my sound sleep. The dog barking is muted enough it doesn't bother me but it would be logical people wanting a peaceful night woodland cricket sound would wish to be away from city annoyances like barking dogs.

Answer:	Hi well just tried it out for myself and it does have several variants of rain with some thunder sounds. I myself only use the white noise option so can't say you would like the rain/thunder but seemed ok to me but then again not a fan of that kind of back ground noise. What I can say is this noise maker has more options that most in it's price range and has good volume to ground out background noise. i.e. no matter how hard my wife might try to disturb my Am sleep this device blocks it just fine. A God send if you have different sleeping cycles than your spouse.
