8 best empire tape measures
Empire tape measures are a brand of measuring tools and linear measurement devices commonly used in construction, woodworking, home improvement projects, and various other applications where precise measurements are necessary. These tape measures are known for their durability, accuracy, and reliability, making them a popular choice among professionals and DIY enthusiasts. Here are some key features and information about Empire tape measures:
Design: Empire tape measures typically have a rugged and ergonomic design. They consist of a flexible metal or fiberglass tape enclosed in a plastic or metal case. The case often includes features like belt clips for easy portability and storage.
Measurement Units: Empire tape measures are available in both metric and imperial measurement units (e.g., feet and inches, centimeters, meters). This versatility allows users to work with the units they are most comfortable with or that are commonly used in their specific trade.
Blade Material: The measuring tape itself, known as the blade, is usually made of steel or fiberglass. Steel blades are durable and resistant to wear and tear, making them suitable for heavy-duty tasks, while fiberglass blades are more flexible and may be preferred for tasks requiring longer lengths.
Blade Coating: Some Empire tape measures come with blade coatings to enhance readability and protect against corrosion. Common blade coatings include nylon, Mylar, or a combination of materials.
Accuracy: Empire tape measures are known for their accuracy. They typically have clear, easy-to-read markings with large numbers and bold lines to ensure precise measurements. The end hook is designed to stay securely in place, preventing measurement errors caused by slippage.
Locking Mechanism: A locking mechanism is often included to hold the tape in place once a measurement has been taken. This feature allows users to record measurements more easily and accurately.
Tape Length: Empire tape measures are available in various lengths, ranging from a few feet (e.g., 12 feet) to longer models (e.g., 25 feet, 30 feet, or more), catering to a wide range of measurement needs.
Additional Features: Some Empire tape measures may include additional features such as a magnetic tip for measuring metal surfaces, built-in pencil sharpeners, and even built-in levels for added functionality.
Durability: Empire tape measures are designed to withstand the rigors of everyday use on job sites and in workshops. They are often built with robust materials and components to ensure longevity.
Brand Reputation: Empire is a reputable brand known for producing high-quality measuring tools and layout instruments. Their products are trusted by professionals in the construction and woodworking industries.
In summary, Empire tape measures are reliable, accurate, and durable measuring tools used for various applications in construction, woodworking, and home improvement. They are available in different lengths and measurement units to suit the specific needs of users and are known for their user-friendly features and precision.
