Answer:	I can't say with certainty (yet) because I cooked 6 the first time around (and they were all perfect). But if the cooking time is determined as I think it is...by the amount of water per egg as noted on the water cup, the only variant should be how long it takes to boil the water out before the timer goes off. I would expect the same results with 1 egg as for 6.

Question:	It looks like you put more water in for one egg and the least amount of water for 7? This doesn't make sense to me
Answer:	You're correct— it doesn't make sense. I believe you're referring to the measurements on the included cup. I have a different cooker (the SimpleTaste) with the same problem— the measurement markings were embossed incorrectly. You •do• need more water for more eggs and/or longer cooking time. For one egg, I have to use the 6&7 mark, and for two eggs, the 5 mark, etc. I still have to play with the amount of water used, but going by the cup you'd over cook one egg and undercook 7. MAYBE somewhere in between it would be right.

Answer:	The piercing tool is to prick eggs on the end when you plan to have a hard boiled egg. Some say it keeps the shell from cracking or that it helps the bottom stay round rather than flat. I don't prick mine and they are fine. I'm not making deviled eggs that have to look good. Answer:	Not sure what you mean by "adjusted". If you're talking about an ability to adjust it for the thickness of food you're cooking, no, there isn't. If your food is soft or fragile, expect to wind up with a pancake. If your food is tougher, like a steak, then you shouldn't have a problem. The lid has three "stopping points": closed, open, and "open flat", where you can use the lid as another half of a griddle. Also be aware that there is only one style of plate for the lid: the flat "griddle" plate. It does not have a corresponding "grill" plate. (The plate is, however, still removable for cleaning.)

Answer:	You will have to contact Hamilton Beach. Mine cracked and leaked bacon grease everywhere.

Answer:	The slow cooker function is high and runs around 165+ F. The "keep warm" function is low and is 145ish F degrees.

Answer:	Hi Judy - Yes this does have a beeper. When the rice is done it beeps on and off for about 5-6 seconds and automatically switches to keep warm. Once you're done you can press the power button and it toggles off so no need to unplug.
Question:	Does the lid lock while the food is cooking, or can you add new ingredients/spices halfway through
Answer:	You do not want the lid to be removable because that would require an extra (third) hand for operating the devise; and a clean and safe place to set down a removed lid. It is sufficient for the pot alone (and steamer tray) to be removable.
Question:	Can you cook noodles in it
Answer:	I have the 8-cup one and the brown rice setting cooks quinoa perfectly! You have to soak it first (minimum 6 hours) but it comes out fully cooked, light and fluffy! I just purchased the larger 20-cup cooker (the 8-cup doesn't hold enough veggies for me) and am sure the brown rice setting on the larger cooker will make quinoa perfectly as well.

Question:	Did the eggs break when poking a hole
Answer:	I've never poked a hole in an egg. About every other time an egg will crack, but not frequent enough to worry about it. I just eat that egg immediately.
Question:	Some of the negative reviews complain that the water bubbles out of the cooker while in use. how common is this problem and why does it happen
Answer:	I purchased one of these cookers about a year ago. Had problems with water boiling out, eggs cracking, and discoloration in the metal cooking pan. I was filling the water level to the top of the measuring cup as that's what I thought was needed. Was also using tap water. After reading all the questions/answers on Amazon, and the directions in detail, realized I was doing a lot of things wrong. Many comments were made about poking the hole in the top of the egg, I didn't know what the top of an egg was until reading these questions/answers, it is the large/more rounded side, which should be facing up when you get them from the carton. I was poking the pointy end. So I tried spraying a little cooking spray in the base of the metal cooking tray and did not fill the water measuring cup to the highest level. None of the eggs broke, no water boiled out, the eggs were super-easy to peel, and the little bit of dark discoloration on metal cooking tray came out completely after adding a little warm water. So what I thought were product defects were of my own making.

Answer:	Hi Jenn - According to the owner's manual for my CEC-10, all materials that come in contact with the food is BPA free. Hope that helps!
Question:	Why do some reviewers recommend using distilled water
Answer:	The manufactor reccomends it because the minerals in tap or bottled water will stain the bottom of the burner and you have to use vinegar to remove it. The instructions say over time it will cause discoloration to the eggs- don't know because after the first few times using tap water and then having to scrub the bottom with vinegar, I went out and bought a gallon jug of distilled water for 99 cents. Well worth the money.

Question:	What's the working voltage range of this mixer
Answer:	After reading the answers below from other customers, I must make a rebuttal. While it is true that this mixer sounds slow, it whips cream in 60 seconds flat, whereas any other mixer I have had takes 5 - 8 minutes of beating to get whipped cream into peaks. It also handles cookie dough, cake dough, etc. It is by far the best hand mixer I have ever had. I am 72 and have had quite a few of them through the years.
Question:	Can you make bread dough with this? Does it come with necessary attachments
Answer:	For this model, the KA rep is wrong. Watts = volts x amps. That's .6 x 120 = 72. The amps are printed on the heel of the mixer. KA likes to claim their DC motors are more efficient, but that does not affect the wattage - even if it were true. There is a reason KA doesn't post the wattage on their box: they are low in power. By the same token, they are light weight and have a true slow start. It just takes longer to whip the potatoes. (The newest KA 7 & 9 speed mixers have .9 amps which gives 108 watts.) The 5-speed does just fine whipping cream, especially with the whisk (sold separately) .
