Answer:	I am not sure that it would not burn a child's hand. That said, I don't think a casual brush against the front would cause a burn. The heater is a radiant heater. It is designed to radiate the heat out and heat objects and the space in front of it without getting extremely hot itself. Caution would always be prudent though.

Answer:	yes it will turn back on. if you pick it up it will turn off.....safety feature... i used mine in my travel trailer in maine and the nights can get cold there even in the summer. Worked very well for me and never had any problems.
