Answer:	Juan, so far as I know, the drain line came with the unit, but I haven't used it, and I'm not planning to use it. Regrettably, I can't answer your question.

Answer:	Get a section (sold by the foot or roll) of flexible tubing from Plumbing aisle at Home Depot. Make sure you get a hose clamp as well to secure tubing to equipment. Tubing should fit outlet. Clamp too.
Question:	can the humidifier bypass duct be on either side ?? The pictures all show it "by passing" to the left - i need it to the right
Answer:	You might be able to vent it through the ceiling exhaust fan, but just dumping the heat into the bathroom itself would be a very bad idea.
Question:	How often do you have to buy new parts? Filters? Etc. And what do they run you each year
Answer:	Of course any/all A/C units generate heat. Yes, you will need to vent the hot air outside or into the attic. The unit comes with white, flexible ducting, which attacked by screwing the ducting into the discharge port on the rear of the unit. Should all be covered in the instructions. No such thing as an air conditioning unit that does not generate heat.

With electrode technology, electrical current flows between submerged electrodes, resistance of the water to the electric current heats the water. The submerged electrodes are found in a replaceable canister. At the end of a humidifier season, the canister – including the electrodes, is replaced. Answer:	You put it on when you want it and it stays on till you turn the UV or machine off

Answer:	It has four filters in the bottom of the unit. They do look like “wicks” I don’t see a separate wick of any other kind.

Answer:	There should be 4 tabs on each lower housing (the housing that hold the filters), and there should also be 4 corresponding slots on each top filter housing. The lower housing should have two tabs sticking straight up in the front, and two tabs sticking horizontally out the back. The two tabs in the back are just flat tabs, and they are supposed to just slide into the two slots in the back of the top housing. The two front tabs on the lower housing are shaped such that they will "snap" into the two slots in the front of the top housing. The tabs on the back of the lower housing are used to align the top housing with the lower housing, and to help keep it in place. Check to see if the lower housings on your unit have the tabs in the back, and if the top housings have the slots for them.

Question:	What is the size of the O-Ring? Mine snapped and i don't pay 10 bucks with shipping
Answer:	Go to your local hardware store with your broken o-ring and purchase (2) neoprene O-rings size .120" thicknesses x 1.281" ID x 1.521" OD, (1 9/32" ID x 1 17/32" OD) or as close as you can get. Compare to to the broken O-ring. Get store assistance if needed. Next, go to local drug store or Walmart and purchase small amount of KY jelly or water- based equivalent. Back home, clean out O-ring socket, place O-ring on canister, smear all over with jelly, and carefully place canister into socket. You know how the rest goes. Keep the spare O-ring and the broken ring in the bottom of the cabinet. Button it up and rock and roll! Good luck!👍
Question:	Does this canister have to be replaced annually
Answer:	Yes, best to replace annually. You can try rinsing it out between seasons, but that only extends life of the unit for a little while.

Answer:	Yes-- Carrier's steam humidifier is exactly identical, as is this replacement part. The Aprilaire 80 Steam Canister works perfectly in my Carrier humdifier.
Question:	How long does a canister last
Answer:	I change mine as soon as the light comes on. It would be nice if Aprilaire had a wifi model that would notify when to change cartridge. Amazon has the best price for canister - about $20 less than Aprilaire site and the price has dropped in last few years. I order 2 canisters and keep one as an immediate replacement. If I am out and need to replace, I want an immediate spare as I use this to keep my grand piano and other acoustic instruments at best humidity. A 10 to 15% humidity drop over a few days and then cycling back up is havoc for a grand piano tuning.

Question:	Do I disconnect G from furnace board and plug straight into the model 60 control? Also can I use the transformer already there
Answer:	Yes, you are partially correct. The actions are thus; Remove the thermostat "G" wire from the furnace terminalstrip and wire it to "G" on the Model 60 control.* Wire "Gf" on the Model 60 to "G" on the furnace terminalstrip. Also, you may use the 24v supply on the furnace control board, if it rated for enough amperage. If not, wire in the external transformer.Check your furnace manual.
Question:	If I use the wiring schematics listed on the manual, will that turn on the blower and not the furnace? Or what wiring schematic do I need
Answer:	If you use the schematic listed for "Automatic" operation (i.e. intercept the "G" wire between the thermostat and the furnace, putting the new humidistat in between) then this unit will be able to use the furnace blower without firing the furnace. Tapping into the hot water supply (instead of cold) is recommended if you use this feature. My 700 is installed this way and works very well in this configuration.

Answer:	For any humidifier to work at its best and quickly increase the humidity to desired level, it needs to be on hot air side after your furnace. Hot air captures maximum humidity compared to cold air.

Answer:	Imagine a screen door with a breeze blowing through it.Now take a hose and dribble water along the top of the screen. Surface tension will make the water fan out and coat the screen, however some water will find its way to the ground.Now that breeze coming through the screen door will evaporate some of the water and become more humid. Crud is less likely to build up on the screen because it is being constantly washed by he water that makes it to the bottom.So that's "exactly" how this humidifier works. The big advantage is that all the carbonates and fine solids don't build up and clog everything, the disadvantage is that the humidifier wastes water since the excess "wash" water goes down the drain.The humidifier consists of a fan that blows air through a special "screen" over which water is dribbled whenever the furnace is heating and the fan is running.

Answer:	Thanks for your question. When the solenoid is sold with the humidifier, it comes with the strainer in the inlet side of the valve. When the solenoid is sold as a stand alone part, the strainer, part 4004, is sold separately. Thanks again.

Answer:	The solenoid #4040 can be warm - it is an electro-magnet which will be warm in operation and if it is plumbed to hot water - it will have hot water running through it as well. If your solenoid is shutting off prematurely, please call our tech support line (800-334-6011) to troubleshoot this issue directly.

Answer:	I’m not using it the same as you are, but Yes, I believe it would work for your application. The manufacturer description says; “Suitable for use with hot or cold water, gas, air,“. In my application it doesn’t leak.

Only got to 93° By the time we took it out of the car so not one of our hottest days and we had tried to park in one of those coveted spots with even 2 inches of shade. Ice packs were still very firm and items inside remained cold. Good luck with yours.

Answer:	It is a zinc iodine blend that is impregnated in the paper of the water panel.

Answer:	The panel does not have an up or down, forward or backward that I know of. Just be sure the long side goes with the long side of the holder and you shouldn't have a problem.
