Question:	can I use regular tap water for this product? How many hours does it work if I fill up the tank
Answer:	Yes, nobody would be able to buy enough distilled water to run this if that were required. It uses a good bit of water..how much is dictated by how high you run it. I can easily get about 10 or 12 hours out of a full tank if run on low.
Question:	Will this unit work in southwest Florida where the humidity is high
Answer:	No!! These are completely dependent on humidity differentials. I've read tons of reviews and background. They'll work to some degree as long as the relative humidity is less than 100%, but you're probably better off with a non-evaporative cooler in Florida. They work like crazy in desert areas, but even then, they can only do a max of about 20'F difference from outside temp. They might work okay in concert with a traditional central air system, since that actually de-humidifies the inside air. But I don't know.

Q: Where are the wheels and castors that should come with this unit?

A: They are in a nested compartment with a cover you need to remove on the bottom of the unit.

Q: Why doesn’t it cool right away? I just plugged it in but it’s not cooling.

A: You need to fill the water compartment to full to allow the water pump to prime. Once that happens, it will begin to cycle the water and within 15 minutes will be cooling efficiently.

Q: Is this a portable A/C unit?

A: No, this is an Evaporative Cooler that uses water and a fan to cool the ambient air. It’s also known as a portable ‘swamp’ cooler.

Q: How many hours can this unit continuously cool after I fill the water reservoir?

A: The MC37V can cool up to 4 hours on one tank full. I usually check my unit every hour to make sure I am good. If you just want to ‘set it and forget it’, you can hook up the unit to your garden hose and the float valve will keep the unit continuously filled.

Answer:	Fans moving air tend to be somewhat loud. The more air moved the more cooling effect you get. I would say many people would think it is loud. I think it is functional. Turn up the radio or TV and the sound from the fan will tend to become less noise and more background.

Answer:	We run the unit for 3-4 hours and have to refil it every other day. We run the air on high and flow of water nearly max. Hope this helps. It's a great unit for the 350 sq foot space we use it in.

Answer:	Moving air is always noisy. The more air you move the louder it gets. The unit itself is actually quiet considering the amount of air it moves. There is minimal motor sound and on low speed it is relatively quiet. We just upgraded to a window mount unit that moves 4500 CFM and it makes the Honeywell seem very quiet. bBasically it is about the same sound level as a fan moving the same amount of air.

Answer:	The ribbed hose on mine came with a hole in it also, strange. i had to make sure the water level is above the hole other wise the water pump beeps and then stopped.

Answer:	Yes, It can be work as a fan, if you don't select "COOL" option. But sound noise is louder compare to a plain fan. In the COOL position is stay the same noise as fan.
Question:	How many hours does the "cool air" blow (i.e. how long does the ice pack/water last)? Will it last a full 8 hours
Answer:	When filled, the water in the tank can last 8 hours (I've had it last longer somehow), but the ice pack will only last maybe 2 hours in warm water. So you will get 2 hours of cold water (extra cold air) and 6 hours of room temp water (cool air).

Answer:	Evaporative coolers work by using heat energy to evaporate water, which cools the room down. With a window closed it would act more like a humidifier which would not leave you very cool. It doesnt have to be next to an open window but you should have a window partially open or the room becomes quite humid and the cooling effect is lost. You should plug the cooler into whatever type of socket it is rated for.

Answer:	I live in Seattle too. This cooler works for a small room or short distance. However, don't expect air conditioning out of it. It will lower temperature a few degrees from up to 6 feet away. Using ice cubes helps better cooling. A full tank will last about 5 hrs on High (not a full night) then it will beep for a minute. If you are a light sleeper, it will wake you up. I wish it fit more water. Still, it was the highest ranked in its price range. I couldn't survive this summer without it. I have no AC.

Answer:	Depends where you live in California. I'm in the south part of the San Francisco Bay. On a warm (90F) and not too humid (40%) day, it's barely better than having just a fan. It feels nice if you stand in the air stream. But it will not actually lower the temperature in a room. As it got warmer outside, so did the room. I bought it based on the answers others made on this question. I returned it, and will buy real AC unit for the next time we have a heat wave. IMO, this is probably suitable only for very dry desert-like climates. E.g. Arizona, New Mexico and possibly dryer (desert) parts of South California.

Question:	Would you consider this a portable air conditoner
Answer:	Try using a stable platform as a riser. An inverted flower pot comes to mind, there are endless size options, they are fairly hefty but not unmanageable and inverting provides a solid base. Turn it over and you have a cozy container for the device. Of course there endless other options just as good.
Question:	I live in AZ but we have an A/C, I hear having both is counterproductive is that true? Part of home does not get AC during the day bc of poor vents
Answer:	there are two spots to place the rectangle shaped pads, the ingrediants are the same as vicks vapor rub just smear a little on a pad and place in the rectangle slot or slots I use both. you could place a few drops of oil on a pad too then place in the slot DO NOT ADD TO THE WATER, only to the cotton pads. hope you feel better?

Question:	It seems the water tank should slide in and out easily, but it doesn't. I can't get it to slide all the way back in. What am I doing wrong
Answer:	In our application, the cables had to be unhooked. When winterized,with no water in the filters or in the sump, the unit is considerably lighter.
Question:	How big is the water tank? How many gallons does it hold
Answer:	I use the cover as a nice consistent look on my home. I wrap the cooler with 2 layers of shrink wrap before I put the cover on. Then I put 2 more layers of shrink wrap over the cover. The layers are to prevent wind penetration and also protect the cover to see if it will last a little longer. I have had the same 4 evaporative coolers for over 20 years and they are fully functional.
Question:	Gets a perfect rating (rebadged as frigidaire) at the big box store, but only 3 stars here, what's up
Answer:	My swamp cooler is on the roof, so I am not sure about being waterproof but I bought it to keep debri out of the house.
Question:	Will this work if it’s always above 80% humidity
Answer:	NO!!! The air circulation is necessary for the compressor to work -- you would risk burning-up your a/c -- mighty expensive when that happens -- most heat exchange will occur via windows and doors -- are these well weather-stripped?
